大衛自拉瑪之拿約遁、詣約拿單、言曰、我何所為、有何過惡、干何罪戾於爾父前、致索我命、

大闢遂遁、自拉馬之拿約、至約拿單所、告曰、我何所為、我有何罪、干於爾父、欲害我命。

Then David fled from Naioth at Ramah and went to Jonathan and asked,“ What have I done? What is my crime? How have I wronged your father, that he is trying to kill me?”

David was in Naioth at Ramah. He ran away from there to where Jonathan was. He asked him,“ What have I done? What crime have I committed? I haven’t done anything to harm your father. So why is he trying to kill me?”

Then David fled from Naioth in Ramah and came and said before Jonathan,“ What have I done? What is my guilt? And what is my sin before your father, that he seeks my life?”

David now fled from Naioth in Ramah and found Jonathan.“ What have I done?” he exclaimed.“ What is my crime? How have I offended your father that he is so determined to kill me?”

David fled from Naioth in Ramah and came to Jonathan and asked,“ What have I done? What did I do wrong? How have I sinned against your father so that he wants to take my life?”

Then David fled from Naioth in Ramah, and he came and said to Jonathan,“ What have I done? What is my guilt? And what is my sin before your father, that he is seeking my life?”

And it was told Saul, saying, Behold, David is at Naioth in Ramah.And Saul sent messengers to take David: and when they saw the company of the prophets prophesying, and Samuel standing as head over them, the Spirit of God came upon the messengers of Saul, and they also prophesied.And when it was told Saul, he sent other messengers, and they also prophesied. And Saul sent messengers again the third time, and they also prophesied.Then went he also to Ramah, and came to the great well that is in Secu: and he asked and said, Where are Samuel and David? And one said, Behold, they are at Naioth in Ramah.And he went thither to Naioth in Ramah: and the Spirit of God came upon him also, and he went on, and prophesied, until he came to Naioth in Ramah.And he also stripped off his clothes, and he also prophesied before Samuel, and lay down naked all that day and all that night. Wherefore they say, Is Saul also among the prophets?

Jehovah hath rewarded me according to my righteousness; According to the cleanness of my hands hath he recompensed me.For I have kept the ways of Jehovah, And have not wickedly departed from my God.For all his ordinances were before me, And I put not away his statutes from me.I was also perfect with him, And I kept myself from mine iniquity.Therefore hath Jehovah recompensed me according to my righteousness, According to the cleanness of my hands in his eyesight.

Blessed be Jehovah, Who hath not given us as a prey to their teeth.Our soul is escaped as a bird out of the snare of the fowlers: The snare is broken, and we are escaped.Our help is in the name of Jehovah, Who made heaven and earth.

For our glorying is this, the testimony of our conscience, that in holiness and sincerity of God, not in fleshly wisdom but in the grace of God, we behaved ourselves in the world, and more abundantly to you- ward.

O Jehovah my God, if I have done this; If there be iniquity in my hands;If I have rewarded evil unto him that was at peace with me( Yea, I have delivered him that without cause was mine adversary;)Let the enemy pursue my soul, and overtake it; Yea, let him tread my life down to the earth, And lay my glory in the dust.[ Selah

And he said to David, Thou art more righteous than I; for thou hast rendered unto me good, whereas I have rendered unto thee evil.

Moreover, my father, see, yea, see the skirt of thy robe in my hand; for in that I cut off the skirt of thy robe, and killed thee not, know thou and see that there is neither evil nor transgression in my hand, and I have not sinned against thee, though thou huntest after my life to take it.

Here I am: witness against me before Jehovah, and before his anointed: whose ox have I taken? or whose ass have I taken? or whom have I defrauded? whom have I oppressed? or of whose hand have I taken a ransom to blind mine eyes therewith? and I will restore it you.

And David said to Saul, Wherefore hearkenest thou to men’s words, saying, Behold, David seeketh thy hurt?

And Saul went on this side of the mountain, and David and his men on that side of the mountain: and David made haste to get away for fear of Saul; for Saul and his men compassed David and his men round about to take them.But there came a messenger unto Saul, saying, Haste thee, and come; for the Philistines have made a raid upon the land.So Saul returned from pursuing after David, and went against the Philistines: therefore they called that place Sela- hammahlekoth.

Beloved, if our heart condemn us not, we have boldness toward God;
