我父若欲害爾、我不示爾、使爾安然而去、則願耶和華罰約拿單維倍、惟願耶和華偕爾、如昔偕我父然、

But if my father intends to harm you, may the Lord deal with Jonathan, be it ever so severely, if I do not let you know and send you away in peace. May the Lord be with you as he has been with my father.

But suppose he wants to harm you. And I don’t let you know about it. Suppose I don’t help you get away in peace. Then may the Lord punish me greatly. May he be with you, just as he has been with my father.

But should it please my father to do you harm, the Lord do so to Jonathan and more also if I do not disclose it to you and send you away, that you may go in safety. May the Lord be with you, as he has been with my father.

But if he is angry and wants you killed, may the Lord strike me and even kill me if I don’t warn you so you can escape and live. May the Lord be with you as he used to be with my father.

If my father intends to bring evil on you, may the LORD punish Jonathan and do so severely if I do not tell you and send you away so you may leave safely. May the LORD be with you, just as he was with my father.

If it pleases my father to do you harm, may the Lord do so to me and more so, if I fail to inform you and send you away, so that you may go in safety. And may the Lord be with you as He has been with my father.

may the Lord do so and much more to Jonathan. But if it pleases my father to do you evil, then I will report it to you and send you away, that you may go in safety. And the Lord be with you as He has been with my father.

Jehovah do so to Jonathan, and more also, should it please my father to do thee evil, if I disclose it not unto thee, and send thee away, that thou mayest go in peace: and Jehovah be with thee, as he hath been with my father.

If my father intends to bring evil on you, may God punish Jonathan and do so severely if I do not tell you and send you away so you may go in peace. May the Lord be with you, just as He was with my father.

The LORD do so and much more to Jonathan: but if it please my father[ to do] thee evil, then I will shew it thee, and send thee away, that thou mayest go in peace: and the LORD be with thee, as he hath been with my father.

But if my father intends to do you harm, may the LORD do all this and more to Jonathan, if I don’t let you know and send word to you so you can go safely on your way. May the LORD be with you, as he was with my father.

Yahweh do so to Jonathan, and more also, should it please my father to do you evil, if I don’t disclose it to you, and send you away, that you may go in peace. May Yahweh be with you, as he has been with my father.

大衛又吩咐以色列的眾領袖幫助他的兒子所羅門，說：

深願耶和華賜你聰明和智慧，使你治理以色列的時候，謹守耶和華你的神的律法。

你一生的日子必沒有一人能在你面前立得住；我怎樣與摩西同在，也必照樣與你同在；我決不離開你，也不離棄你。

大衛又說：“那曾救我脫離獅爪和熊掌的耶和華，也必救我脫離這非利士人的手。”於是掃羅對大衛說：“你去吧！願耶和華與你同在。”

你死在哪裡，我也要死在哪裡，葬在哪裡。除非死亡把你我分離；如果我離開你，願耶和華加倍懲罰我。”

以利說：“耶和華對你說了甚麼話呢？你不要向我隱瞞，他對你所說的一切話，如果你向我隱瞞一句，願神對付你，並且加倍對付你。”

掃羅懼怕大衛，因為耶和華與大衛同在，卻離開了掃羅。

但我的慈愛必不離開他，像離開在你面前的掃羅一樣。

這些徵兆臨到你的時候，你就可以見機行事，因為神與你同在。

我吩咐你們的一切，都要教導他們遵守。這樣，我就常常與你們同在，直到這世代的終結。”

掃羅取得了以色列的王國以後，常常攻打四圍的一切仇敵，就是摩押人、亞捫人、以東人、瑣巴眾王和非利士人，他無論往哪裡去，都得到勝利（按照《馬索拉文本》，“得到勝利”作“懲罰”或“行邪惡”；現參照《七十士譯本》翻譯）。

你們又要對亞瑪撒說：‘你不是我的骨肉至親嗎？我若不立你代替約押，在我面前作軍隊的元帥，願神重重地懲罰我，並且加倍嚴厲地懲罰我。’”

掃羅聽了這些話，神的靈大大感動他，他就非常忿怒。他牽來一對牛，把牠們切成碎塊，交給使者，送到以色列的全境去，說：“不出來跟從掃羅和撒母耳的，他的牛也必受到這樣的對待。”因眾民懼怕耶和華，他們就都出來，如同一人。掃羅在比色數點他們。以色列人共有三十萬，猶大人有三萬。掃羅對前來的使者說：“你們要這樣對基列．雅比人說：‘明天中午，你們必得拯救。’”使者回去告訴基列．雅比人，他們就歡喜了。雅比人對亞捫人說：“明天我們出來向你們投降，你們看怎麼好，就怎麼待我們吧。”第二天，掃羅把眾人分成三隊。在晨更的時候，他們進了亞捫人的營中，擊殺他們，直到中午；殘餘的人都星散了，他們中間沒有兩個人留在一起的。眾民對撒母耳說：“那說‘掃羅怎能作我們的王’的是誰呢？把那些人交出來，我們好殺死他們。”掃羅說：“今天不可以殺人，因為今天是耶和華在以色列中施行拯救的日子。”

還在白天的時候，眾人都來勸大衛吃點飯；大衛起誓說：“我若在日落以前吃飯或吃甚麼東西，願神降罰我，重重地降罰我。”

耶洗別就差派一個使者去見以利亞說：“明天這個時候，如果我不使你的性命，像那些人一樣，願神明懲罰我，並且加倍懲罰我。”

如果我讓這人一切所有的，就是一個男丁，留到明天早晨，神怎樣懲罰大衛的仇敵，願他也怎樣加倍懲罰我。”

便．哈達又差派人去見亞哈說：“撒瑪利亞的塵土若是足夠跟從我的人每人捧一捧的話，願神明懲罰我，並且加倍懲罰我。”

你們在我身上所學習、所領受、所聽見、所看見的，這些事你們都應當實行；那麼，賜平安的神就必與你們同在。
