于是王对多益说：“你转过去把祭司击杀。”以东人多益就转过去把祭司击杀了。那一天，他杀了八十五个穿细麻布以弗得的人，

於是王對多益說：“你轉過去把祭司擊殺。”以東人多益就轉過去把祭司擊殺了。那一天，他殺了八十五個穿細麻布以弗得的人，

於是王對多益說：『你轉身去把祭司殺掉。』以東人多益就轉身去把祭司殺掉；那一天他殺死了八十五個人、都是帶着神諭像的。

於是王對多益說：「你過去擊殺祭司們。」以東人多益就過去擊殺那些祭司。那天他殺了八十五個佩戴細麻布以弗得的人，

王謂多益曰、爾往擊之、以東人多益遂擊祭司、當日殺衣枲聖衣者、八十五人、

王諭多益曰、汝擊祭司。以東人多益遂擊祭司、當日殺衣枲公服者八十五人。

The king then ordered Doeg,“ You turn and strike down the priests.” So Doeg the Edomite turned and struck them down. That day he killed eighty-five men who wore the linen ephod.

Then the king ordered Doeg,“ You go and strike down the priests.” So Doeg, the Edomite, went and struck them down. That day he killed 85 priests who wore linen aprons.

Then the king said to Doeg,“ You turn and strike the priests.” And Doeg the Edomite turned and struck down the priests, and he killed on that day eighty-five persons who wore the linen ephod.

Then the king said to Doeg,“ You do it.” So Doeg the Edomite turned on them and killed them that day, eighty five priests in all, still wearing their priestly garments.

So the king said to Doeg,“ Go and execute the priests!” So Doeg the Edomite went and executed the priests himself. On that day, he killed eighty-five men who wore linen ephods.

Then the king said to Doeg,“ You, turn around and attack the priests!” And Doeg the Edomite turned around and attacked the priests, and he killed on that day eighty five men who wore the linen ephod.

And the king said to Doeg,“ You turn and kill the priests!” So Doeg the Edomite turned and struck the priests, and killed on that day eighty-five men who wore a linen ephod.

And the king said to Doeg, Turn thou, and fall upon the priests. And Doeg the Edomite turned, and he fell upon the priests, and he slew on that day fourscore and five persons that did wear a linen ephod.

So the king said to Doeg,“ Go and execute the priests!” So Doeg the Edomite went and executed the priests himself. On that day, he killed 85 men who wore linen ephods.

那時，撒母耳還是孩子，穿着細麻布的以弗得，侍立在耶和華面前。

因此，耶和華－以色列的神說：『我確實說過，你和你祖宗的家必永遠行在我面前，但現在耶和華卻說，我絕不會這樣做。因為尊重我的，我必尊重他；藐視我的，他必被輕視。看哪，日子將到，我要折斷你的膀臂和你祖宗家的膀臂，使你家中沒有一個老年人。你在以色列人享福的時候必看見我居所的衰敗，你家中必永遠沒有一個老年人。你家中的人，我沒有從我壇前剪除的，必使你眼睛失明，心中憂傷。你家中所添的人口都必夭折。

我在耶路撒冷也曾這樣做過；我不但從祭司長得了權柄，把許多聖徒收在監裏，而且他們被殺，我也表示贊成。在各會堂，我屢次用刑強迫他們說褻瀆的話，我非常厭惡他們，甚至追逼他們，直到外邦的城鎮。」

我指着以利家所說的話，到了時候，必從頭到尾應驗在以利身上。我曾告訴他，我必永遠懲罰他的家，因為他知道自己的兒子作惡，褻瀆神，卻不禁止他們。所以我向以利家起誓：『以利家的罪孽，就是獻祭物和供物，也永不得贖。』」

他們行惡使君王歡喜，說謊使官長快樂。

「你要為亞倫的兒子做內袍、腰帶、頭巾，以示尊嚴和華美。

因為你遵守暗利的規條，行亞哈家一切所行的，順從他們的計謀；因此，我必使你荒涼，使你的居民遭人嗤笑，你們也必擔當我百姓的羞辱。

你家所剩下的人都必來叩拜他，求一塊銀子，一個餅，說：求你給我一個祭司的職分，好使我得點餅吃。』」

其中的領袖是咆哮的獅子，審判官是晚上的野狼，不留一點到早晨。

以法蓮因喜愛遵從荒謬的命令，就受欺壓，在審判中被壓碎。

在以色列眾支派中，我不是揀選他作我的祭司，上我的祭壇，燒香，在我面前穿以弗得嗎？我不是將以色列人所獻的火祭都賜給你祖宗的家嗎？

眾人謀害撒迦利亞，照着王的吩咐，在耶和華殿的院內用石頭打死他。
