Nabal answered David’s servants,“ Who is this David? Who is this son of Jesse? Many servants are breaking away from their masters these days.

And Nabal answered David’s servants,“ Who is David? Who is the son of Jesse? There are many servants these days who are breaking away from their masters.

“ Who is this fellow David?” Nabal sneered to the young men.“ Who does this son of Jesse think he is? There are lots of servants these days who run away from their masters.

Nabal asked them,“ Who is David? Who is Jesse’s son? Many slaves these days are running away from their masters.

But Nabal answered David’s servants and said,“ Who is David? And who is the son of Jesse? There are many servants today who are each breaking away from his master.

Then Nabal answered David’s servants, and said,“ Who is David, and who is the son of Jesse? There are many servants nowadays who break away each one from his master.

And Nabal answered David’s servants, and said, Who is David? and who is the son of Jesse? there are many servants now- a- days that break away every man from his master.

Nabal asked them,“ Who is David? Who is Jesse’s son? Many slaves these days are running away from their masters.

But Nabal responded to David’s servants,“ Who is David, and who is this son of Jesse? This is a time when many servants are breaking away from their masters!

Nabal answered David’s servants, and said,“ Who is David? Who is the son of Jesse? There are many servants who break away from their masters these days.

以别的儿子迦勒说：“亚比米勒是谁？我们示剑人是谁，竟要服侍他？他不就是耶路·巴力的儿子吗？他的帮手不就是西布勒吗？我们为什么要服侍他？你们要服侍示剑人祖先哈抹的后代。

耶和华啊，求你怜悯我们，求你怜悯我们，因为我们饱受鄙视。我们饱受富足人的嘲弄、骄傲人的鄙视。

就对左右的臣仆说：“便雅悯人啊，你们听着！难道耶西的儿子会给你们田地和葡萄园吗？他能立你们做千夫长和百夫长吗？为什么你们一同谋害我？我的儿子跟耶西的儿子立约，没有人告诉我。就是今天我的儿子鼓动我的臣仆来谋害我，也没有人关心我，告诉我。”

以色列人见王不听他们的请求，就说：“我们与大卫有何相干？我们与耶西的儿子没有关系！以色列人啊，各自回家吧！大卫家啊，自己照顾自己吧！”于是，以色列人各自回家了。

法老说：“耶和华是谁？我凭什么要听从祂，放走以色列人？我不认识祂，也不会让以色列人离开！”

所有受压迫的、负债的和心怀不满的人都纷纷来投奔他。大卫就做了他们的首领，跟随他的有四百多人。

扫罗向约拿单发怒，对他说：“你这邪恶叛逆妇人所生之子！难道我不知道你是站在耶西的儿子那边吗？你这样做不但自取其辱，也使你母亲蒙羞。

恶棍们手段邪恶，用阴谋诡计和谎言毁灭困苦的人，即使穷人的诉求有理也是枉然。

他们胖得眼睛凸出，心中充满罪恶。他们讥讽嘲笑，言语恶毒，狂妄地以暴力相威胁。

有一个无赖名叫示巴，是便雅悯人比基利的儿子，当时刚好在吉甲。他吹响号角，大喊：“我们与大卫毫无关系，耶西儿子的产业没有我们的份。以色列人啊，各自回家去吧！”

不要问为什么过去比现在好，因为这样问不明智。

愚昧人必不再被奉为尊贵之人，恶棍必不再受尊重。
