Now David and his men went up and raided the Geshurites, the Girzites and the Amalekites.( From ancient times these peoples had lived in the land extending to Shur and Egypt.)

Sometimes David and his men would go up and attack the Geshurites. At other times they would attack the Girzites or the Amalekites. All those people had lived in the land that reached all the way to Shur and Egypt. They had been there for a long time.

Now David and his men went up and made raids against the Geshurites, the Girzites, and the Amalekites, for these were the inhabitants of the land from of old, as far as Shur, to the land of Egypt.

以色列人却没有赶走基述人和玛迦人，他们到今天还住在以色列人当中。

以法莲人没有赶走住在基色的迦南人，这些迦南人仍然住在他们当中。

约押便到基述把押沙龙接回耶路撒冷。

后来基述人和亚兰人夺取了雅珥的城邑，包括基纳及其附近的六十个村落。这些人都是基列的父亲玛吉的后代。

后来，亚玛力人到利非订攻打以色列人。

押沙龙答道：“我派人请你来，希望你替我去问王，‘我为什么要从基述回来呢？倒不如仍然留在那里。’现在我要见王，如果我有什么罪过，就让他杀了我吧！”

仆人住在亚兰的基述时曾许愿，如果耶和华带领我回到耶路撒冷，我必在希伯仑敬拜祂。”

押沙龙逃到了亚米忽的儿子基述王达买那里，在那里住了三年。大卫王天天为他的儿子暗嫩悲伤，

过了两天，大卫率领部下回到洗革拉的时候，发现亚玛力人袭击了南地和洗革拉，攻破了洗革拉城，把全城烧毁，

耶和华对摩西说：“我要抹去世人对亚玛力人的记忆。你要把这话记在书卷上作纪念，也要把这话告诉约书亚。”摩西在那里筑了一座坛，称之为耶和华尼西。摩西说：“耶和华已经起誓要世代与亚玛力人为敌。”
