Now David and his men went up and raided the Geshurites, the Girzites and the Amalekites.( From ancient times these peoples had lived in the land extending to Shur and Egypt.)

Sometimes David and his men would go up and attack the Geshurites. At other times they would attack the Girzites or the Amalekites. All those people had lived in the land that reached all the way to Shur and Egypt. They had been there for a long time.

Now David and his men went up and made raids against the Geshurites, the Girzites, and the Amalekites, for these were the inhabitants of the land from of old, as far as Shur, to the land of Egypt.

約押便到基述把押沙龍接回耶路撒冷。

後來基述人和亞蘭人奪取了雅珥的城邑，包括基納及其附近的六十個村落。這些人都是基列的父親瑪吉的後代。

後來，亞瑪力人到利非訂攻打以色列人。

押沙龍答道：「我派人請你來，希望你替我去問王，『我為什麼要從基述回來呢？倒不如仍然留在那裡。』現在我要見王，如果我有什麼罪過，就讓他殺了我吧！」

僕人住在亞蘭的基述時曾許願，如果耶和華帶領我回到耶路撒冷，我必在希伯崙敬拜祂。」

所羅門徵召勞役興建耶和華的殿、自己的王宮、米羅堡和耶路撒冷的城牆以及夏瑣、米吉多和基色。從前埃及王法老攻陷基色，火燒全城，殺了城內的迦南人，把基色賜予女兒，即所羅門之妻作嫁妝。所羅門現在重建基色、下伯·和崙、

摩西帶領以色列人離開紅海，來到書珥曠野，走了三天仍然找不到水喝。

押沙龍逃到了亞米忽的兒子基述王達買那裡，在那裡住了三年。大衛王天天為他的兒子暗嫩悲傷，

過了兩天，大衛率領部下回到洗革拉的時候，發現亞瑪力人襲擊了南地和洗革拉，攻破了洗革拉城，把全城燒毀，

耶和華對摩西說：「我要抹去世人對亞瑪力人的記憶。你要把這話記在書卷上作紀念，也要把這話告訴約書亞。」摩西在那裡築了一座壇，稱之為耶和華尼西。摩西說：「耶和華已經起誓要世代與亞瑪力人為敵。」
