Now David and his men went up and raided the Geshurites, the Girzites and the Amalekites.( From ancient times these peoples had lived in the land extending to Shur and Egypt.)

Sometimes David and his men would go up and attack the Geshurites. At other times they would attack the Girzites or the Amalekites. All those people had lived in the land that reached all the way to Shur and Egypt. They had been there for a long time.

Now David and his men went up and made raids against the Geshurites, the Girzites, and the Amalekites, for these were the inhabitants of the land from of old, as far as Shur, to the land of Egypt.

David and his men spent their time raiding the Geshurites, the Girzites, and the Amalekites— people who had lived near Shur, toward the land of Egypt, since ancient times.

于是约押起身往基述去，把押沙龙带回耶路撒冷。

后来基述和亚兰夺了哈倭特‧睚珥，以及基纳和所属的乡镇，共六十个。这些城镇的人全都是基列的父亲玛吉的子孙。

那时，亚玛力来到利非订，和以色列争战。

押沙龙对约押说：“看哪，我派人去请你来，好托你到王那里去，说：‘我为何从基述回来呢？我仍在那里比较好。’现在让我去见王的面；我若有罪孽，就任凭王杀了我吧。”

因为仆人住在亚兰的基述时，曾许愿说：‘耶和华若使我再回耶路撒冷，我必事奉他。’”

所罗门王挑取服劳役的工人，为要建造耶和华的殿、自己的宫、米罗、耶路撒冷的城墙、夏琐、米吉多和基色。先前埃及王法老上来攻取基色，用火焚烧，杀了城内居住的迦南人，把城赐给他的女儿，就是所罗门的妻子，作为嫁妆。所罗门建造基色、下伯‧和仑、

摩西领以色列人从红海起程，到了书珥的旷野，在旷野走了三天，找不到水。

押沙龙逃到亚米忽的儿子基述王达买那里去了。大卫天天为他儿子悲哀。押沙龙逃到基述去了，在那里住了三年。

第三日，大卫和他的人到了洗革拉。亚玛力人已经侵夺尼革夫和洗革拉。他们攻破洗革拉，用火焚烧。

耶和华对摩西说：“你要把这事记录在书上作纪念，又念给约书亚听：我要把亚玛力的名字从天下全然涂去。”摩西筑了一座坛，起名叫“耶和华尼西”。他说：“我指着耶和华的宝座发誓，耶和华必世世代代和亚玛力争战。”
