耶和華曰、可命名耶斯烈、昔耶戶殺人於耶斯烈、我將報之於俄頃、使以色列族國祚不長、當日在耶斯烈谷、我將折以色列族之弓、婦再懷妊、生女、主曰、可命名囉路哈馬、蓋我必棄以色列家、不加矜憫、我將矜憫猶大家、非以弓刃戰鬥車騎救援、乃以我能拯之、婦為其女斷乳、再妊生子、主曰、可命名囉亞米、蓋爾曹非我民、我非爾上帝、越至於後、以色列族其數必如海沙、不能斗量籌算也、今我語人曰、爾非我民、異日將稱為永生上帝眾子、猶大族與以色列族、將合一處、簡立一長、自異邦而歸、耶斯烈受祐之日、稱其日為大日。

左右反告。耶戶曰、昔耶和華命的庇人以利亞云、在耶斯烈田、耶洗別必為犬所噬、

其界自耶斯烈、至基蘇律、書念、

其間風雲驟起、黑蔽霄漢、沛然下雨、亞哈乘車、往耶斯烈、耶和華助以利亞、使於亞哈前、束腰疾行、亦至耶斯烈。

論及耶洗別、耶和華云、近耶斯烈城、耶洗別必為犬所噬。

時值非利士人集軍旅、攻以色列族。亞吉諭大闢曰、爾與僕從、必從我以戰。大闢曰、僕所能為、將示爾知焉。亞吉曰、我必使爾恆為侍衛長。○

時米田、亞馬力與東方之人咸集、濟河建營於耶斯烈谷。

非利士人集、於書念建營。掃羅集以色列族、建營於吉破。

耶戶至耶斯烈、耶洗別聞之、則櫛髮修容、自牖而窺。
