亚吉叫大卫来，对他说：“我指着永生的耶和华起誓，你是正直人。你随我在军中出入，我看你甚好。自从你投奔我到如今，我未曾见你有什么过失；只是众首领不喜悦你。

亚吉便叫大卫过来，对他说：“我凭永活的耶和华起誓，你一向忠心耿耿，自从你投奔我以来，我没发现你有什么过错，我很愿意你与我一同作战，只是众首领不赞成。

亚吉把大卫叫来，对他说：“我指着永活的耶和华说，你是正直的人，你与我在军中出入，我感到很满意，因为自从你到我这里来的那一天，直到今日，我未曾在你身上找到什么过失；只是各首领不喜欢你。

于是亚吉召来大卫，对他说：“我指着耶和华的永生起誓：你是正直人，你跟我一起在军中出入，这事在我眼中看为好，因为自从你来到我这里那天起，直到今天，我在你身上找不到任何过犯。只是你在首领们眼中看为不好。

亞吉叫大衛來，對他說：「我指着永生的耶和華起誓，你是正直人。你隨我在軍中出入，我看你甚好。自從你投奔我到如今，我未曾見你有甚麼過失；只是眾首領不喜悅你。

亞吉把大衛叫來，對他說：“我指著永活的耶和華說，你是正直的人，你與我在軍中出入，我感到很滿意，因為自從你到我這裡來的那一天，直到今日，我未曾在你身上找到甚麼過失；只是各首領不喜歡你。

亞吉把大衛叫來，對他說：『我指着永活的永恆主來起誓：「你是正直人；你跟着我在軍營中出入、我看得很滿意；自從你來我這裏、直到如今、我未曾見過你有甚麼壞處；只是眾霸主卻不喜歡你。

於是亞吉召來大衛，對他說：「我指著耶和華的永生起誓：你是正直人，你跟我一起在軍中出入，這事在我眼中看為好，因為自從你來到我這裡那天起，直到今天，我在你身上找不到任何過犯。只是你在首領們眼中看為不好。

亞吉召大衛曰、我指維生之耶和華而誓、爾乃端正、偕我出入軍中、我視為善、自爾來歸、未嘗見爾有惡、惟牧伯不愛爾、

亞吉召大闢曰、我指耶和華以誓、爾甚忠直、自投誠以來、爾出入相從、有善無惡、然不見愛於諸伯。

亞吉召大衛曰、我指永生主而誓、爾誠正直、爾隨我出入於軍、軍或作營我視為善、自爾投我至於今日、我未見爾有過、然諸伯不悅爾、

So Achish called David and said to him,“ As surely as the Lord lives, you have been reliable, and I would be pleased to have you serve with me in the army. From the day you came to me until today, I have found no fault in you, but the rulers don’t approve of you.

So Achish called David over to him. He said,“ You have been faithful to me. And that’s just as sure as the Lord is alive. I would be pleased to have you serve with me in the army. I haven’t found any fault in you. That’s been true from the day you came to me until today. But the Philistine rulers aren’t pleased to have you come along.

Then Achish called David and said to him,“ As the Lord lives, you have been honest, and to me it seems right that you should march out and in with me in the campaign. For I have found nothing wrong in you from the day of your coming to me to this day. Nevertheless, the lords do not approve of you.

So Achish finally summoned David and said to him,“ I swear by the Lord that you have been a trustworthy ally. I think you should go with me into battle, for I’ve never found a single flaw in you from the day you arrived until today. But the other Philistine rulers won’t hear of it.

So Achish summoned David and told him,“ As the LORD lives, you are an honorable man. I think it is good to have you fighting in this unit with me, because I have found no fault in you from the day you came to me until today. But the leaders don’t think you are reliable.

Then Achish called David and said to him,“ As the Lord lives, you have indeed been honest, and your going out and your coming in with me in the army are pleasing in my sight; for I have not found evil in you since the day of your coming to me to this day. Nevertheless, you are not pleasing in the sight of the governors.

Then Achish called David and said to him,“ Surely, as the Lord lives, you have been upright, and your going out and your coming in with me in the army is good in my sight. For to this day I have not found evil in you since the day of your coming to me. Nevertheless the lords do not favor you.

Then Achish called David, and said unto him, As Jehovah liveth, thou hast been upright, and thy going out and thy coming in with me in the host is good in my sight; for I have not found evil in thee since the day of thy coming unto me unto this day: nevertheless the lords favor thee not.

So Achish summoned David and told him,“ As the Lord lives, you are an honorable man. I think it is good to have you working with me in the camp, because I have found no fault in you from the day you came to me until today. But the leaders don’t think you are reliable.

Then Achish called David, and said unto him, Surely,[ as] the LORD liveth, thou hast been upright, and thy going out and thy coming in with me in the host[ is] good in my sight: for I have not found evil in thee since the day of thy coming unto me unto this day: nevertheless the lords favour thee not.

So Achish summoned David and said to him,“ As surely as the LORD lives, you are an honest man, and I am glad to have you serving with me in the army. I have found no fault with you from the day that you first came to me until the present time. But in the opinion of the leaders, you are not reliable.

Then Achish called David, and said to him,“ As Yahweh lives, you have been upright, and your going out and your coming in with me in the army is good in my sight; for I have not found evil in you since the day of your coming to me to this day. Nevertheless, the lords don’t favor you.

“‘ But I know where you are and when you come and go and how you rage against me. (niv)

You know Abner son of Ner; he came to deceive you and observe your movements and find out everything you are doing.” (niv)

the Lord will watch over your coming and going both now and forevermore. (niv)

But David took an oath and said,“ Your father knows very well that I have found favor in your eyes, and he has said to himself,‘ Jonathan must not know this or he will be grieved.’ Yet as surely as the Lord lives and as you live, there is only a step between me and death.” (niv)

In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven. (niv)

Saul swore to her by the Lord,“ As surely as the Lord lives, you will not be punished for this.” (niv)

“ But I know where you are and when you come and go and how you rage against me. (niv)

When Phinehas the priest and the leaders of the community— the heads of the clans of the Israelites— heard what Reuben, Gad and Manasseh had to say, they were pleased. (niv)

“ Your slave is in your hands,” Abram said.“ Do with her whatever you think best.” Then Sarai mistreated Hagar; so she fled from her. (niv)

keeping a clear conscience, so that those who speak maliciously against your good behavior in Christ may be ashamed of their slander. (niv)

to go out and come in before them, one who will lead them out and bring them in, so the Lord’s people will not be like sheep without a shepherd.” (niv)

Whoever invokes a blessing in the land will do so by the one true God; whoever takes an oath in the land will swear by the one true God. For the past troubles will be forgotten and hidden from my eyes. (niv)

Now David and his men went up and raided the Geshurites, the Girzites and the Amalekites.( From ancient times these peoples had lived in the land extending to Shur and Egypt.)Whenever David attacked an area, he did not leave a man or woman alive, but took sheep and cattle, donkeys and camels, and clothes. Then he returned to Achish.When Achish asked,“ Where did you go raiding today?” David would say,“ Against the Negev of Judah” or“ Against the Negev of Jerahmeel” or“ Against the Negev of the Kenites.”He did not leave a man or woman alive to be brought to Gath, for he thought,“ They might inform on us and say,‘ This is what David did.’” And such was his practice as long as he lived in Philistine territory.Achish trusted David and said to himself,“ He has become so obnoxious to his people, the Israelites, that he will be my servant for life.” (niv)

Fear the Lord your God and serve him. Hold fast to him and take your oaths in his name. (niv)

And if they learn well the ways of my people and swear by my name, saying,‘ As surely as the Lord lives’— even as they once taught my people to swear by Baal— then they will be established among my people.. (niv)

The commanders of the Philistines asked,“ What about these Hebrews?” Achish replied,“ Is this not David, who was an officer of Saul king of Israel? He has already been with me for over a year, and from the day he left Saul until now, I have found no fault in him.” (niv)

Live such good lives among the pagans that, though they accuse you of doing wrong, they may see your good deeds and glorify God on the day he visits us. (niv)
