When the people of Ashdod rose early the next day, there was Dagon, fallen on his face on the ground before the ark of the Lord! They took Dagon and put him back in his place.

The people of Ashdod got up early the next day. They saw the statue of Dagon. There it was, lying on the ground! It had fallen on its face in front of the ark of the Lord. So they picked up the statue of Dagon. They put it back in its place.

And when the people of Ashdod rose early the next day, behold, Dagon had fallen face downward on the ground before the ark of the Lord. So they took Dagon and put him back in his place.

But when the citizens of Ashdod went to see it the next morning, Dagon had fallen with his face to the ground in front of the Ark of the Lord! So they took Dagon and put him in his place again.

彼勒叩拜，尼波屈身；巴比倫的偶像馱在走獸和牲畜背上。你們所抬的成了重馱，使牲畜疲乏。這些神明一同屈身叩拜，不能救自己，反倒遭人擄去。

論埃及的默示。看哪，耶和華乘駕快雲，臨到埃及；埃及的偶像在他面前戰兢，埃及人的心在裏面消溶。

他們抬起神像，扛在肩上，安置在定處，使它站立，不離本位；人呼求它，它卻不回答，也無法救人脫離災難。

然後又用剩下的一半做了一個神明，就是雕刻的偶像，向這偶像俯伏叩拜，向它禱告說：「求你拯救我，因你是我的神明。」他們既無知，又不思想；因為耶和華蒙蔽他們的眼，使他們看不見，塞住他們的心，使他們不明白。沒有一個心裏醒悟，有知識，有聰明，能說：「我曾拿一部分用火燃燒，在炭火上烤餅，也烤肉來吃。這剩下的，我豈要做可憎之像嗎？我豈可向木頭叩拜呢？」他以灰塵為食，心裏迷糊，以致偏邪，不能自救，也不能說：「我右手中豈不是有虛謊嗎？」

你們不要和不信的人同負一軛。義和不義有甚麼相關？光明和黑暗有甚麼相連？基督和彼列有甚麼相和？信主的和不信主的有甚麼相干？上帝的殿和偶像有甚麼相同？因為我們是永生上帝的殿，就如上帝曾說：「我要在他們中間居住來往；我要作他們的上帝，他們要作我的子民。」

因為那夜我要走遍埃及地，把埃及地一切頭生的，無論是人是牲畜，都擊殺了；我要對埃及所有的神明施行審判。我是耶和華。

願所有事奉雕刻偶像、靠虛無神明自誇的，都蒙羞愧。萬神哪，你們都當拜他。

木匠鼓勵銀匠，用鎚子打光的鼓勵打砧的，對銲工說：「銲得好！」又用釘子釘穩，免得它倒下。

耶穌對他們說：「我看見撒但從天上墜落，像閃電一樣。我已經給你們權柄可以踐踏蛇和蠍子，又勝過仇敵一切的能力，絕沒有甚麼能害你們。然而，不要因靈服了你們就歡喜，而要因你們的名記錄在天上歡喜。」

沒有能力捐獻的人，就挑選不易朽壞的木頭，為自己尋找巧匠，豎立不會倒的偶像。

耶和華必向他們顯為可畏，因他使地上的眾神衰微；列國的海島各在自己的地方敬拜他。

每當污靈看見他，就俯伏在他面前，喊着說：「你是上帝的兒子。」

他們如同畜牲，盡都愚昧。偶像的訓誨算甚麼呢？偶像不過是木頭，
