When the people of Ashdod saw what was happening, they said,“ The ark of the god of Israel must not stay here with us, because his hand is heavy on us and on Dagon our god.”

翌晨、亞實突人夙興、見大袞仆、伏於地、在耶和華匱前、遂取而置之於其所、次日夙興、見大袞仆、伏於地、在耶和華匱前、其首與手、並斷於閾、惟遺殘體而已、

伯示麥人曰、此維聖之上帝耶和華、孰能立於其前、彼離我、當何往、

爾曹初未舁之、亦未循例尋求上帝、故我上帝耶和華擊我儕、

羣臣奏法老曰、斯人陷我、伊于胡底、宜釋其人、使崇事其上帝耶和華、豈不知埃及危亡乎、
