The Egyptians were urging the people on, in order to send them out of the land quickly, for they were saying,“ We are all dead!”

“ Moab, you trust in the things you do and in your riches. So you too will be conquered. Your god Chemosh will go into exile along with his priests and his officials.

Pray to the LORD, for the mighty thunderings and hail are too much! I will release you and you will stay no longer.”

David was afraid of the LORD that day and said,“ How will the ark of the LORD ever come to me?”

Too bad for us! Who can deliver us from the hand of these mighty gods? These are the gods who struck the Egyptians with all sorts of plagues in the desert!

David was angry because the LORD attacked Uzzah; so he called that place Perez Uzzah, which remains its name to this very day.David was afraid of God that day and said,“ How will I ever be able to bring the ark of God up here?”So David did not move the ark to the City of David; he left it in the house of Obed-Edom the Gittite.

Then Pharaoh summoned Moses and Aaron and said,“ Pray to the LORD that he may take the frogs away from me and my people, and I will release the people that they may sacrifice to the LORD.”

The LORD God of Israel who rules over all says,“ I will punish Amon, the god of Thebes. I will punish Egypt, its gods, and its kings. I will punish Pharaoh and all who trust in him.

Pharaoh said,“ I will release you so that you may sacrifice to the LORD your God in the desert. Only you must not go very far. Do pray for me.”

When the residents of Ashdod got up early the next day, Dagon was lying on the ground before the ark of the LORD. So they took Dagon and set him back in his place.But when they got up early the following day, Dagon was again lying on the ground before the ark of the LORD. The head of Dagon and his two hands were sheared off and were lying at the threshold. Only Dagon’s body was left intact.

The residents of Beth Shemesh asked,“ Who is able to stand before the LORD, this holy God? To whom will the ark go up from here?”

The first time you did not carry it; that is why the LORD God attacked us, because we did not ask him about the proper way to carry it.”

Pharaoh’s servants said to him,“ How long will this man be a menace to us? Release the people so that they may serve the LORD their God. Do you not know that Egypt is destroyed?”
