你們為什麼心裡剛硬，像埃及人和法老那樣心裡剛硬呢？當神折辱他們的時候，他們不是放走了以色列人嗎？以色列人不是離開了嗎？

何剛愎乃心、如埃及人與法老之剛愎乎、上帝行奇事於其間、彼豈非釋其民、使之往乎、

何剛愎乃心、效埃及人與法老所為乎。彼不釋以色列族、待降異災而後可。

看哪，我要使埃及人的心刚硬，他们就必跟着以色列人下去；这样，我必在法老和他的全军身上，以及他的马车和马兵身上得到荣耀。

法老一见灾祸平息了，就心里刚硬，不肯听他们的话，就像耶和华所说的。

可是，这一次法老还是心里刚硬，不肯让以色列人离开。

埃及人追赶过来，法老所有的马匹、马车和马兵，都跟着以色列人下到海中去。

他心里有智慧，而且有极大的能力，有谁对他刚硬而平安无事呢？

趁着还有叫作“今天”的时候，总要天天互相劝勉，免得你们中间有人受了罪恶的诱惑，心里就刚硬了。

然而我使你存留，是为了使你看见我的能力，并且在全地上传讲我的名。

可是你一直硬着心肠，不肯悔改，为自己积蓄神的忿怒，就是他彰显公义审判的那天所要发的忿怒。

就不要硬着心，好像在米利巴，就是在旷野的玛撒的日子一样。

万民听见，就必战抖；疼痛恐惧抓住了非利士的居民。那时，以东的族长惊惶，摩押的英雄被战兢抓住，所有迦南的居民都胆战心寒。恐惧战兢临到他们身上；因着你大能的手臂，他们像石头一样寂然不动；直到你的人民过去，耶和华啊，直到你买赎的人民过去。

夜里，法老把摩西和亚伦召了来，说：“你们和以色列人都起来，离开我的人民出去，照着你们所说的，去事奉耶和华吧；也照着你们所说的，连羊群牛群都带着走吧，并且要为我祝福。”埃及人催促以色列人，要他们赶快离开此地，因为他们说：“我们都要死了。”
