Then Samuel took a stone and set it up between Mizpah and Shen and called its name Ebenezer; for he said,“ Till now the Lord has helped us.”

Then Samuel took a stone and set it up between Mizpah and Shen. He named it Ebenezer, saying,“ Thus far the Lord has helped us.”

Then Samuel got a big stone. He set it up between Mizpah and Shen. He named it Ebenezer. He said,“ The Lord has helped us every step of the way.”

Samuel then took a large stone and placed it between the towns of Mizpah and Jeshanah. He named it Ebenezer( which means“ the stone of help”), for he said,“ Up to this point the Lord has helped us!”

Afterward, Samuel took a stone and set it upright between Mizpah and Shen. He named it Ebenezer, explaining,“ The LORD has helped us to this point.”

To this day I have had the help that comes from God, and so I stand here testifying both to small and great, saying nothing but what the prophets and Moses said would come to pass:

And Jacob set up a pillar in the place where he had spoken with him, a pillar of stone. He poured out a drink offering on it and poured oil on it.

When the Philistines captured the ark of God, they brought it from Ebenezer to Ashdod.

So Abraham called the name of that place,“ The Lord will provide”; as it is said to this day,“ On the mount of the Lord it shall be provided.”

So Jacob took a stone and set it up as a pillar.And Jacob said to his kinsmen,“ Gather stones.” And they took stones and made a heap, and they ate there by the heap.Laban called it Jegar-sahadutha, but Jacob called it Galeed.Laban said,“ This heap is a witness between you and me today.” Therefore he named it Galeed,and Mizpah, for he said,“ The Lord watch between you and me, when we are out of one another’s sight.If you oppress my daughters, or if you take wives besides my daughters, although no one is with us, see, God is witness between you and me.”Then Laban said to Jacob,“ See this heap and the pillar, which I have set between you and me.This heap is a witness, and the pillar is a witness, that I will not pass over this heap to you, and you will not pass over this heap and this pillar to me, to do harm.

And Moses built an altar and called the name of it, The Lord Is My Banner,

So early in the morning Jacob took the stone that he had put under his head and set it up for a pillar and poured oil on the top of it.He called the name of that place Bethel, but the name of the city was Luz at the first.

And the word of Samuel came to all Israel. Now Israel went out to battle against the Philistines. They encamped at Ebenezer, and the Philistines encamped at Aphek.

“ Listen to me, O house of Jacob, all the remnant of the house of Israel, who have been borne by me from before your birth, carried from the womb;even to your old age I am he, and to gray hairs I will carry you. I have made, and I will bear; I will carry and will save.

And Joshua wrote these words in the Book of the Law of God. And he took a large stone and set it up there under the terebinth that was by the sanctuary of the Lord.And Joshua said to all the people,“ Behold, this stone shall be a witness against us, for it has heard all the words of the Lord that he spoke to us. Therefore it shall be a witness against you, lest you deal falsely with your God.”

In that day there will be an altar to the Lord in the midst of the land of Egypt, and a pillar to the Lord at its border.

O God, from my youth you have taught me, and I still proclaim your wondrous deeds.

Upon you I have leaned from before my birth; you are he who took me from my mother’s womb. My praise is continually of you.

And those twelve stones, which they took out of the Jordan, Joshua set up at Gilgal.And he said to the people of Israel,“ When your children ask their fathers in times to come,‘ What do these stones mean?’then you shall let your children know,‘ Israel passed over this Jordan on dry ground.’For the Lord your God dried up the waters of the Jordan for you until you passed over, as the Lord your God did to the Red Sea, which he dried up for us until we passed over,so that all the peoples of the earth may know that the hand of the Lord is mighty, that you may fear the Lord your God forever.”
