Then Samuel said to all the people of Israel,“ If you want to return to the Lord with all your hearts, get rid of your foreign gods and your images of Ashtoreth. Turn your hearts to the Lord and obey him alone; then he will rescue you from the Philistines.”

撒母耳对以色列全家说：“你们若一心归顺耶和华，就要把外邦的神和亚斯他录从你们中间除掉，专心归向耶和华，单单地侍奉他。他必救你们脱离非利士人的手。”

撒母耳对以色列全家说：“你们若全心回转归向耶和华，就要从你们中间除掉外邦的神明和亚斯她录，预备你们的心归向耶和华，单单事奉他，他必救你们脱离非利士人的手。”

撒母耳对以色列全家说：“你们若全心回转归向耶和华，就要从你们中间除掉外邦的神明和亚斯她录，预备你们的心归向耶和华，单单事奉他，他必救你们脱离非利士人的手。”

撒母耳对他们说：“如果你们全心归向耶和华，就要除掉你们那些外族的神明，包括亚斯她录神像，一心归向耶和华，单单事奉祂，祂必从非利士人手中救你们。”

于是撒母耳对以色列全家说：“如果你们一心归向耶和华，就当把外族的神和亚斯他录从你们中间除掉，专心归向耶和华，单单事奉他，他必救你们脱离非利士人的手。”

撒母耳就对以色列全家宣告说：“你们如果全心回转归向耶和华，就要把外邦的神明和亚斯她录从你们中间除掉，立定心志归向耶和华，唯独服事他。这样他就会解救你们脱离非利士人的手。”

撒母耳對以色列全家說：「你們若一心歸順耶和華，就要把外邦的神和亞斯她錄從你們中間除掉，專心歸向耶和華，單單地事奉他。他必救你們脫離非利士人的手。」

於是撒母耳對以色列全家說：“如果你們一心歸向耶和華，就當把外族的神和亞斯他錄從你們中間除掉，專心歸向耶和華，單單事奉他，他必救你們脫離非利士人的手。”

撒母耳對以色列全家說：『你們若一心回轉來歸向永恆主，把外人的神從你們中間除掉，也除掉亞斯他錄，立定心意歸向永恆主，單單事奉他，他就援救你們脫離非利士人的手。』

撒母耳就對以色列全家宣告說：「你們如果全心回轉歸向耶和華，就要把外邦的神明和亞斯她錄從你們中間除掉，立定心志歸向耶和華，唯獨服事他。這樣他就會解救你們脫離非利士人的手。」

撒母耳告以色列家曰、如爾一心歸耶和華、則必除異族之神、及亞斯他錄於爾中、專心歸耶和華、而獨事之、則彼援爾於非利士人手、

撒母耳告以色列眾曰、如爾盡心歸耶和華、則他上帝及亞大綠、必絕於爾中、當備爾心、獨事耶和華、則彼援爾於非利士人手。

撒母耳謂以色列族之眾曰、如爾盡心歸主、則以異邦之神及諸亞斯他錄除於爾中、專心向主、獨崇事主、如此、主必援爾於非利士人之手、

So Samuel said to all the Israelites,“ If you are returning to the Lord with all your hearts, then rid yourselves of the foreign gods and the Ashtoreths and commit yourselves to the Lord and serve him only, and he will deliver you out of the hand of the Philistines.”

So Samuel spoke to all the Israelites. He said,“ Do you really want to return to the Lord with all your hearts? If you do, get rid of your false gods. Get rid of your statues of female gods that are named Ashtoreth. Commit yourselves to the Lord. Serve him only. Then he will save you from the power of the Philistines.”

And Samuel said to all the house of Israel,“ If you are returning to the Lord with all your heart, then put away the foreign gods and the Ashtaroth from among you and direct your heart to the Lord and serve him only, and he will deliver you out of the hand of the Philistines.”

Samuel told them,“ If you are returning to the LORD with all your heart, get rid of the foreign gods and the Ashtoreths that are among you, set your hearts on the LORD, and worship only him. Then he will rescue you from the Philistines.”

Then Samuel spoke to all the house of Israel, saying,“ If you are returning to the Lord with all your heart, then remove the foreign gods and the Ashtaroth from among you, and direct your hearts to the Lord and serve Him alone; and He will save you from the hand of the Philistines.”

Then Samuel spoke to all the house of Israel, saying,“ If you return to the Lord with all your hearts, then put away the foreign gods and the Ashtoreths from among you, and prepare your hearts for the Lord, and serve Him only; and He will deliver you from the hand of the Philistines.”

And Samuel spake unto all the house of Israel, saying, If ye do return unto Jehovah with all your heart, then put away the foreign gods and the Ashtaroth from among you, and direct your hearts unto Jehovah, and serve him only; and he will deliver you out of the hand of the Philistines.

Samuel told them,“ If you are returning to the Lord with all your heart, get rid of the foreign gods and the Ashtoreths that are among you, dedicate yourselves to the Lord, and worship only Him. Then He will rescue you from the hand of the Philistines.”

And Samuel spake unto all the house of Israel, saying, If ye do return unto the LORD with all your hearts,[ then] put away the strange gods and Ashtaroth from among you, and prepare your hearts unto the LORD, and serve him only: and he will deliver you out of the hand of the Philistines.

Samuel said to all the people of Israel,“ If you are really turning to the LORD with all your hearts, remove from among you the foreign gods and the images of Ashtoreth. Give your hearts to the LORD and serve only him. Then he will deliver you from the hand of the Philistines.”

Samuel spoke to all the house of Israel, saying,“ If you are returning to Yahweh with all your heart, then put away the foreign gods and the Ashtaroth from among you, and direct your hearts to Yahweh, and serve him only; and he will deliver you out of the hand of the Philistines.”

Jesus replied,“ The Scriptures say,‘ You must worship the Lord your God and serve only him.’”

Serve only the Lord your God and fear him alone. Obey his commands, listen to his voice, and cling to him.

“ Get out of here, Satan,” Jesus told him.“ For the Scriptures say,‘ You must worship the Lord your God and serve only him.’”

You must fear the Lord your God and serve him. When you take an oath, you must use only his name.

Let the wicked change their ways and banish the very thought of doing wrong. Let them turn to the Lord that he may have mercy on them. Yes, turn to our God, for he will forgive generously.

“ So fear the Lord and serve him wholeheartedly. Put away forever the idols your ancestors worshiped when they lived beyond the Euphrates River and in Egypt. Serve the Lord alone.

“ All right then,” Joshua said,“ destroy the idols among you, and turn your hearts to the Lord, the God of Israel.”

If they turn to you with their whole heart and soul in the land of their enemies and pray toward the land you gave to their ancestors— toward this city you have chosen, and toward this Temple I have built to honor your name—

That is why the Lord says,“ Turn to me now, while there is time. Give me your hearts. Come with fasting, weeping, and mourning.Don’t tear your clothing in your grief, but tear your hearts instead.” Return to the Lord your God, for he is merciful and compassionate, slow to get angry and filled with unfailing love. He is eager to relent and not punish.

“ Come, let us return to the Lord. He has torn us to pieces; now he will heal us. He has injured us; now he will bandage our wounds.In just a short time he will restore us, so that we may live in his presence.

You must fear the Lord your God and worship him and cling to him. Your oaths must be in his name alone.

For God is Spirit, so those who worship him must worship in spirit and in truth.”

If at that time you and your children return to the Lord your God, and if you obey with all your heart and all your soul all the commands I have given you today,then the Lord your God will restore your fortunes. He will have mercy on you and gather you back from all the nations where he has scattered you.Even though you are banished to the ends of the earth, the Lord your God will gather you from there and bring you back again.The Lord your God will return you to the land that belonged to your ancestors, and you will possess that land again. Then he will make you even more prosperous and numerous than your ancestors!“ The Lord your God will change your heart and the hearts of all your descendants, so that you will love him with all your heart and soul and so you may live!The Lord your God will inflict all these curses on your enemies and on those who hate and persecute you.Then you will again obey the Lord and keep all his commands that I am giving you today.“ The Lord your God will then make you successful in everything you do. He will give you many children and numerous livestock, and he will cause your fields to produce abundant harvests, for the Lord will again delight in being good to you as he was to your ancestors.The Lord your God will delight in you if you obey his voice and keep the commands and decrees written in this Book of Instruction, and if you turn to the Lord your God with all your heart and soul.

Again the Israelites did evil in the Lord’s sight. They served the images of Baal and Ashtoreth, and the gods of Aram, Sidon, Moab, Ammon, and Philistia. They abandoned the Lord and no longer served him at all.

“ And Solomon, my son, learn to know the God of your ancestors intimately. Worship and serve him with your whole heart and a willing mind. For the Lord sees every heart and knows every plan and thought. If you seek him, you will find him. But if you forsake him, he will reject you forever.

Now seek the Lord your God with all your heart and soul. Build the sanctuary of the Lord God so that you can bring the Ark of the Lord’s Covenant and the holy vessels of God into the Temple built to honor the Lord’s name.”

So Jacob told everyone in his household,“ Get rid of all your pagan idols, purify yourselves, and put on clean clothing.

‘ These people honor me with their lips, but their hearts are far from me.

Put all your rebellion behind you, and find yourselves a new heart and a new spirit. For why should you die, O people of Israel?

This is what the Lord says to the people of Judah and Jerusalem:“ Plow up the hard ground of your hearts! Do not waste your good seed among thorns.O people of Judah and Jerusalem, surrender your pride and power. Change your hearts before the Lord, or my anger will burn like an unquenchable fire because of all your sins.

“ No one can serve two masters. For you will hate one and love the other; you will be devoted to one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and be enslaved to money.

They abandoned the Lord to serve Baal and the images of Ashtoreth.

who decide to follow the Lord, the God of their ancestors, even though they are not properly cleansed for the ceremony.”

Even so, there is some good in you, for you have removed the Asherah poles throughout the land, and you have committed yourself to seeking God.”

“ If only you would prepare your heart and lift up your hands to him in prayer!Get rid of your sins, and leave all iniquity behind you.

We can make our own plans, but the Lord gives the right answer.

Then the Israelites put aside their foreign gods and served the Lord. And he was grieved by their misery.

Return, O Israel, to the Lord your God, for your sins have brought you down.

They placed his armor in the temple of the Ashtoreths, and they fastened his body to the wall of the city of Beth shan.
