有人偏离了这些而转向空谈，

可惜有些人却偏离这些，转向空洞的谈论。

有些人偏离了这些，就转向无意义的辩论，

有些人偏离了这些，转向了虚妄的话，

有人偏離這些，反去講虛浮的話，

有人偏離了這些而轉向空談，

有人偏離了這些而轉向空談，

可惜有些人卻偏離這些，轉向空洞的談論。

有些人偏離了這些，就轉向無意義的辯論，

有些人不以這幾樣為正鵠，就偏向虛妄的談論，

有些人偏離了這些，轉向了虛妄的話，

乃有失此而向虛誕、

有人棄此、轉求虛誕、

有人棄此、轉求虛誕、

今同人中頗有不此之務、而歧入蹈虛鑿空之迷途者；

Some have departed from these and have turned to meaningless talk.

Some have turned from these teachings. They would rather talk about things that have no meaning.

Certain persons, by swerving from these, have wandered away into vain discussion,

But some people have missed this whole point. They have turned away from these things and spend their time in meaningless discussions.

Some people have strayed from these things and have turned aside to fruitless discussion,

from which some, having strayed, have turned aside to idle talk,

from which things some having swerved have turned aside unto vain talking;

Some have deviated from these and turned aside to fruitless discussion.

From which some having swerved have turned aside unto vain jangling;

Some have strayed from these and turned away to empty discussion.

from which things some, having missed the mark, have turned away to vain talking,

For there are many rebellious people, full of empty talk and deception, especially those from the circumcision party.

But avoid foolish debates, genealogies, quarrels, and disputes about the law, because they are unprofitable and worthless.

But reject foolish and ignorant disputes, because you know that they breed quarrels.The Lord’s servant must not quarrel, but must be gentle to everyone, able to teach, and patient,

he is conceited and understands nothing, but has an unhealthy interest in disputes and arguments over words. From these come envy, quarreling, slander, evil suspicions,and constant disagreement among people whose minds are depraved and deprived of the truth, who imagine that godliness is a way to material gain.

Timothy, guard what has been entrusted to you, avoiding irreverent and empty speech and contradictions from what is falsely called knowledge.By professing it, some people have departed from the faith. Grace be with you all.

For some have already turned away to follow Satan.

because Demas has deserted me, since he loved this present world, and has gone to Thessalonica. Crescens has gone to Galatia, Titus to Dalmatia.

They have departed from the truth, saying that the resurrection has already taken place, and are ruining the faith of some.
