to slander no one, to be peaceable and considerate, and always to be gentle toward everyone. (niv)

May God be gracious to us and bless us and make his face shine on us—so that your ways may be known on earth, your salvation among all nations.May the peoples praise you, God; may all the peoples praise you.May the nations be glad and sing for joy, for you rule the peoples with equity and guide the nations of the earth. “ As for the foreigner who does not belong to your people Israel but has come from a distant land because of your name—for they will hear of your great name and your mighty hand and your outstretched arm— when they come and pray toward this temple,then hear from heaven, your dwelling place. Do whatever the foreigner asks of you, so that all the peoples of the earth may know your name and fear you, as do your own people Israel, and may know that this house I have built bears your Name. May the Lord make your love increase and overflow for each other and for everyone else, just as ours does for you. (niv)

Will not the Judge of all the earth do right?”The Lord said,“ If I find fifty righteous people in the city of Sodom, I will spare the whole place for their sake.”Then Abraham spoke up again:“ Now that I have been so bold as to speak to the Lord, though I am nothing but dust and ashes,what if the number of the righteous is five less than fifty? Will you destroy the whole city for lack of five people?”“ If I find forty- five there,” he said,“ I will not destroy it.”Once again he spoke to him,“ What if only forty are found there?” He said,“ For the sake of forty, I will not do it.”Then he said,“ May the Lord not be angry, but let me speak. What if only thirty can be found there?” He answered,“ I will not do it if I find thirty there.”Abraham said,“ Now that I have been so bold as to speak to the Lord, what if only twenty can be found there?” He said,“ For the sake of twenty, I will not destroy it.”Then he said,“ May the Lord not be angry, but let me speak just once more. What if only ten can be found there?” He answered,“ For the sake of ten, I will not destroy it.” (niv)

Praise be to his glorious name forever; may the whole earth be filled with his glory. Amen and Amen. (niv)

I ask you, therefore, not to be discouraged because of my sufferings for you, which are your glory. (niv)
