For there is one God and one mediator between God and mankind, the man Christ Jesus,

Yet at present we do not see everything subject to them.But we do see Jesus, who was made lower than the angels for a little while, now crowned with glory and honor because he suffered death, so that by the grace of God he might taste death for everyone.In bringing many sons and daughters to glory, it was fitting that God, for whom and through whom everything exists, should make the pioneer of their salvation perfect through what he suffered.Both the one who makes people holy and those who are made holy are of the same family. So Jesus is not ashamed to call them brothers and sisters.He says,“ I will declare your name to my brothers and sisters; in the assembly I will sing your praises.”And again,“ I will put my trust in him.” And again he says,“ Here am I, and the children God has given me.” (niv)

and among the lampstands was someone like a son of man, dressed in a robe reaching down to his feet and with a golden sash around his chest. (niv)

“ The virgin will conceive and give birth to a son, and they will call him Immanuel”( which means“ God with us”). (niv)

If only there were someone to mediate between us, someone to bring us together, (niv)

“ The most important one,” answered Jesus,“ is this:‘ Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one.Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.’The second is this:‘ Love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no commandment greater than these.”“ Well said, teacher,” the man replied.“ You are right in saying that God is one and there is no other but him.To love him with all your heart, with all your understanding and with all your strength, and to love your neighbor as yourself is more important than all burnt offerings and sacrifices.” (niv)

So then, about eating food sacrificed to idols: We know that“ An idol is nothing at all in the world” and that“ There is no God but one.” (niv)

But in fact the ministry Jesus has received is as superior to theirs as the covenant of which he is mediator is superior to the old one, since the new covenant is established on better promises. (niv)

one God and Father of all, who is over all and through all and in all. (niv)

So it is written:“ The first man Adam became a living being”; the last Adam, a life-giving spirit.The spiritual did not come first, but the natural, and after that the spiritual.The first man was of the dust of the earth; the second man is of heaven. (niv)
