Charge them that are rich in this world, that they be not highminded, nor trust in uncertain riches, but in the living God, who giveth us richly all things to enjoy;

你要嘱咐那些今世富足的人，不要自高，也不要倚靠无定的钱财；只要倚靠那厚赐百物给我们享受的神。

至于那些今世富足的人，你要嘱咐他们不要自高，也不要倚赖靠不住的钱财；要倚靠那厚赐万物给我们享受的上帝。

當諭今世之富有者、志勿高、勿望無定之財、惟望上帝、即厚以百物賜我者、

當諭此世之富者、心勿傲、無定之財勿恃、惟賴永生上帝、洪賜我眾、百物以享之、

當諭此世之富者、心勿驕傲、勿恃無定之財、惟恃永生天主、厚賜我眾百物以享之、

叮嚀斯世富人、不可驕傲；財富無常、未足恃也。所可恃者、惟天主耳。天主慨然以萬物賜予吾人、俾得充量享受者、

Command those who are rich in this present world not to be arrogant nor to put their hope in wealth, which is so uncertain, but to put their hope in God, who richly provides us with everything for our enjoyment.

Command people who are rich in this world not to be proud. Tell them not to put their hope in riches. Wealth is so uncertain. Command those who are rich to put their hope in God. He richly provides us with everything to enjoy.

As for the rich in this present age, charge them not to be haughty, nor to set their hopes on the uncertainty of riches, but on God, who richly provides us with everything to enjoy.

Teach those who are rich in this world not to be proud and not to trust in their money, which is so unreliable. Their trust should be in God, who richly gives us all we need for our enjoyment.

Well; because of unbelief they were broken off, and thou standest by faith. Be not highminded, but fear:

Thus saith the LORD, Let not the wise[ man] glory in his wisdom, neither let the mighty[ man] glory in his might, let not the rich[ man] glory in his riches:But let him that glorieth glory in this, that he understandeth and knoweth me, that I[ am] the LORD which exercise lovingkindness, judgment, and righteousness, in the earth: for in these[ things] I delight, saith the LORD.

Trust not in oppression, and become not vain in robbery: if riches increase, set not your heart[ upon them].

And the disciples were astonished at his words. But Jesus answereth again, and saith unto them, Children, how hard is it for them that trust in riches to enter into the kingdom of God!

For riches[ are] not for ever: and doth the crown[ endure] to every generation?

And for the majesty that he gave him, all people, nations, and languages, trembled and feared before him: whom he would he slew; and whom he would he kept alive; and whom he would he set up; and whom he would he put down.But when his heart was lifted up, and his mind hardened in pride, he was deposed from his kingly throne, and they took his glory from him:And he was driven from the sons of men; and his heart was made like the beasts, and his dwelling[ was] with the wild asses: they fed him with grass like oxen, and his body was wet with the dew of heaven; till he knew that the most high God ruled in the kingdom of men, and[ that] he appointeth over it whomsoever he will.And thou his son, O Belshazzar, hast not humbled thine heart, though thou knewest all this;But hast lifted up thyself against the Lord of heaven; and they have brought the vessels of his house before thee, and thou, and thy lords, thy wives, and thy concubines, have drunk wine in them; and thou hast praised the gods of silver, and gold, of brass, iron, wood, and stone, which see not, nor hear, nor know: and the God in whose hand thy breath[ is], and whose[ are] all thy ways, hast thou not glorified:

There is a sore evil[ which] I have seen under the sun,[ namely], riches kept for the owners thereof to their hurt.But those riches perish by evil travail: and he begetteth a son, and[ there is] nothing in his hand.

Let the brother of low degree rejoice in that he is exalted:But the rich, in that he is made low: because as the flower of the grass he shall pass away.

Behold[ that] which I have seen:[ it is] good and comely[ for one] to eat and to drink, and to enjoy the good of all his labour that he taketh under the sun all the days of his life, which God giveth him: for it[ is] his portion.Every man also to whom God hath given riches and wealth, and hath given him power to eat thereof, and to take his portion, and to rejoice in his labour; this[ is] the gift of God.

Then said Jesus unto his disciples, Verily I say unto you, That a rich man shall hardly enter into the kingdom of heaven.

But if I tarry long, that thou mayest know how thou oughtest to behave thyself in the house of God, which is the church of the living God, the pillar and ground of the truth.

They take up all of them with the angle, they catch them in their net, and gather them in their drag: therefore they rejoice and are glad.Therefore they sacrifice unto their net, and burn incense unto their drag; because by them their portion[ is] fat, and their meat plenteous.

And he said unto them, Take heed, and beware of covetousness: for a man’s life consisteth not in the abundance of the things which he possesseth.And he spake a parable unto them, saying, The ground of a certain rich man brought forth plentifully:And he thought within himself, saying, What shall I do, because I have no room where to bestow my fruits?And he said, This will I do: I will pull down my barns, and build greater; and there will I bestow all my fruits and my goods.And I will say to my soul, Soul, thou hast much goods laid up for many years; take thine ease, eat, drink,[ and] be merry.But God said unto him,[ Thou] fool, this night thy soul shall be required of thee: then whose shall those things be, which thou hast provided?So[ is] he that layeth up treasure for himself, and is not rich toward God.

Behold, this was the iniquity of thy sister Sodom, pride, fulness of bread, and abundance of idleness was in her and in her daughters, neither did she strengthen the hand of the poor and needy.And they were haughty, and committed abomination before me: therefore I took them away as I saw[ good].

For Demas hath forsaken me, having loved this present world, and is departed unto Thessalonica; Crescens to Galatia, Titus unto Dalmatia.

And, behold,[ there was] a man named Zacchaeus, which was the chief among the publicans, and he was rich.

According to their pasture, so were they filled; they were filled, and their heart was exalted; therefore have they forgotten me.

For thy sister Sodom was not mentioned by thy mouth in the day of thy pride,

There was a man in the land of Uz, whose name[ was] Job; and that man was perfect and upright, and one that feared God, and eschewed evil.And there were born unto him seven sons and three daughters.His substance also was seven thousand sheep, and three thousand camels, and five hundred yoke of oxen, and five hundred she asses, and a very great household; so that this man was the greatest of all the men of the east.

And it shall be, when the LORD thy God shall have brought thee into the land which he sware unto thy fathers, to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, to give thee great and goodly cities, which thou buildedst not,And houses full of all good[ things], which thou filledst not, and wells digged, which thou diggedst not, vineyards and olive trees, which thou plantedst not; when thou shalt have eaten and be full;[ Then] beware lest thou forget the LORD, which brought thee forth out of the land of Egypt, from the house of bondage.

And thou say in thine heart, My power and the might of[ mine] hand hath gotten me this wealth.

And for the chief things of the ancient mountains, and for the precious things of the lasting hills,

For the LORD God[ is] a sun and shield: the LORD will give grace and glory: no good[ thing] will he withhold from them that walk uprightly.O LORD of hosts, blessed[ is] the man that trusteth in thee.

Neither is worshipped with men’s hands, as though he needed any thing, seeing he giveth to all life, and breath, and all things;

But when he was strong, his heart was lifted up to[ his] destruction: for he transgressed against the LORD his God, and went into the temple of the LORD to burn incense upon the altar of incense.

[ That] thou givest them they gather: thou openest thine hand, they are filled with good.

Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.

And when they were come, and had gathered the church together, they rehearsed all that God had done with them, and how he had opened the door of faith unto the Gentiles.

As I besought thee to abide still at Ephesus, when I went into Macedonia, that thou mightest charge some that they teach no other doctrine,

I charge[ thee] before God, and the Lord Jesus Christ, and the elect angels, that thou observe these things without preferring one before another, doing nothing by partiality.

If I have made gold my hope, or have said to the fine gold,[ Thou art] my confidence;If I rejoiced because my wealth[ was] great, and because mine hand had gotten much;

Lo,[ this is] the man[ that] made not God his strength; but trusted in the abundance of his riches,[ and] strengthened himself in his wickedness.

For they themselves shew of us what manner of entering in we had unto you, and how ye turned to God from idols to serve the living and true God;

But Hezekiah rendered not again according to the benefit[ done] unto him; for his heart was lifted up: therefore there was wrath upon him, and upon Judah and Jerusalem.Notwithstanding Hezekiah humbled himself for the pride of his heart,[ both] he and the inhabitants of Jerusalem, so that the wrath of the LORD came not upon them in the days of Hezekiah.

And Abram[ was] very rich in cattle, in silver, and in gold.

[ It is] better to trust in the LORD than to put confidence in man.[ It is] better to trust in the LORD than to put confidence in princes.

Lest I be full, and deny[ thee], and say, Who[ is] the LORD? or lest I be poor, and steal, and take the name of my God[ in vain].

Trust in him at all times;[ ye] people, pour out your heart before him: God[ is] a refuge for us. Selah.

For this ye know, that no whoremonger, nor unclean person, nor covetous man, who is an idolater, hath any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and of God.

They[ are] not in trouble[ as other] men; neither are they plagued like[ other] men.Therefore pride compasseth them about as a chain; violence covereth them[ as] a garment.Their eyes stand out with fatness: they have more than heart could wish.They are corrupt, and speak wickedly[ concerning] oppression: they speak loftily.They set their mouth against the heavens, and their tongue walketh through the earth.

O generation, see ye the word of the LORD. Have I been a wilderness unto Israel? a land of darkness? wherefore say my people, We are lords; we will come no more unto thee?

Blessed[ is] the man that trusteth in the LORD, and whose hope the LORD is.For he shall be as a tree planted by the waters, and[ that] spreadeth out her roots by the river, and shall not see when heat cometh, but her leaf shall be green; and shall not be careful in the year of drought, neither shall cease from yielding fruit.

The king spake, and said, Is not this great Babylon, that I have built for the house of the kingdom by the might of my power, and for the honour of my majesty?

When the even was come, there came a rich man of Arimathaea, named Joseph, who also himself was Jesus’ disciple:

For the wicked boasteth of his heart’s desire, and blesseth the covetous,[ whom] the LORD abhorreth.The wicked, through the pride of his countenance, will not seek[ after God]: God[ is] not in all his thoughts.

And Jesus said unto him, This day is salvation come to this house, forsomuch as he also is a son of Abraham.For the Son of man is come to seek and to save that which was lost.

Wilt thou set thine eyes upon that which is not? for[ riches] certainly make themselves wings; they fly away as an eagle toward heaven.

Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world;

( For after all these things do the Gentiles seek:) for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things.

I give thee charge in the sight of God, who quickeneth all things, and[ before] Christ Jesus, who before Pontius Pilate witnessed a good confession;

Which he shed on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Saviour;

Reward her even as she rewarded you, and double unto her double according to her works: in the cup which she hath filled fill to her double.How much she hath glorified herself, and lived deliciously, so much torment and sorrow give her: for she saith in her heart, I sit a queen, and am no widow, and shall see no sorrow.
