Be careful that no one takes you captive through philosophy and empty deceit based on human tradition, based on the elemental forces of the world, and not based on Christ.

But avoid irreverent, empty speech, for this will produce an even greater measure of godlessness.

But as for you, continue in what you have learned and firmly believed. You know those who taught you,and you know that from childhood you have known the sacred Scriptures, which are able to give you wisdom for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus.All Scripture is inspired by God and is profitable for teaching, for rebuking, for correcting, for training in righteousness,

Let no one disqualify you, insisting on ascetic practices and the worship of angels, claiming access to a visionary realm and inflated without cause by his unspiritual mind.

or to pay attention to myths and endless genealogies. These promote empty speculations rather than God’s plan, which operates by faith.
