曰、凡事多益、其首要、財上帝以詔托之、

當守此誡、無玷缺、無可責、迨吾主耶穌基督昭著、

吾教爾、或以口宣、或以書遺、兄弟當堅立固守之、

為此我受苦、不以為恥、蓋深知所信之主、能保我所付托、至於乃日、惟爾信愛基督耶穌、守我所傳正理之模範、昔以善事托爾、當賴我中之聖神守之、

蓋此世之智、上帝以為不智、經云、主令智者自中其詭計、

恆守所學真理、以正道教人、逆理者、詰折之、

小子爾賴基督耶穌恩、當剛健、

有人棄此、轉求虛誕、

時、以彼古羅、士多亞智者與之爭、有曰、此嘐啁者奚為、有曰、其傳他邦之鬼神歟、蓋保羅傳福音、必稱耶穌及復生也。

當棄妄言老媼之談、練習敬虔、

若以譜系律法爭競、乃愚者之論、皆虛妄、足以損人、務必棄之、

爾於窘逐患難間、恆忍、信主、故我儕於上帝諸會前譽爾、

經云、我將敗智者之智、廢賢者之賢、智者安在、士子安在、世之辯者又安在、豈非上帝以此世之智為不智乎、世人恃其智、不識上帝、故上帝喜以若愚之道、救諸信者、斯上帝之智也、猶太人索異跡、希利尼人求智慧、余傳基督釘十字架之道、猶太人以為可厭、希利尼人以為不智、

眾雅典人、及外邦旅人、不遑他務、惟新事是言是聽而已、○

惟洪福之上帝、授我榮顯福音、在所必戒、

勿聽猶太之虛誕、背道之話言、

吾儕傳智於練達之人、但非此世之智、亦非在世有司之智、以其必敗也、

惟爾事上帝之人、在所必戒、而從義、虔、信、仁、柔、忍、

所受所聞之道、爾當服膺、而悛厥過、如爾不儆醒、我必襲爾、猶盜猝至、爾不能料其何時、
