“ Tell Rehoboam the son of Solomon, king of Judah, and all Israel in Judah and Benjamin, saying,

我出生後第八天就受了割禮，我是以色列人，屬於便雅憫支派，是道道地地的希伯來人。論守律法，我是法利賽人；

我聽見以色列各支派中蓋了印的共有十四萬四千人：猶大支派有一萬二千，呂便支派有一萬二千，迦得支派有一萬二千，亞設支派有一萬二千，拿弗他利支派有一萬二千，瑪拿西支派有一萬二千，西緬支派有一萬二千，利未支派有一萬二千，以薩迦支派有一萬二千，西布倫支派有一萬二千，約瑟支派有一萬二千，便雅憫支派有一萬二千。

以上是以色列的十二支派，他們的父親按著他們不同的福分給他們祝福。

直到現在，他們仍然執迷不悟，不敬畏耶和華，也不遵行耶和華賜給雅各子孫的律例、典章、法度和誡命。耶和華曾給雅各取名叫以色列，

摩西把耶和華的這些話記錄下來。第二天清晨，摩西在山腳築了一座壇，立了十二根柱子代表以色列的十二支派。
