“ Tell Rehoboam the son of Solomon, king of Judah, and all Israel in Judah and Benjamin, saying,

我第八天受割禮，屬於以色列民族便雅憫支派，是希伯來人所生的希伯來人。按著律法來說，我是個法利賽人；

我聽見被蓋印的人的數目，以色列子孫各支派中被蓋印的共有十四萬四千人：猶大支派中被蓋印的，一萬二千人；流本支派中，一萬二千人；迦得支派中，一萬二千人；亞設支派中，一萬二千人；拿弗他利支派中，一萬二千人；瑪拿西支派中，一萬二千人；西緬支派中，一萬二千人；利未支派中，一萬二千人；以薩迦支派中，一萬二千人；西布倫支派中，一萬二千人；約瑟支派中，一萬二千人；便雅憫支派中，一萬二千人。

這些就是以色列的十二支派；以上是他們父親對他們所說的話，是按著各人的福分給他們所祝的福。

直到今日，他們仍是按照他們初時的習俗去行；他們不敬畏耶和華，行事不按他們的規例和典章，也不按耶和華曾吩咐雅各的子孫的律法和誡命。耶和華曾給雅各起名為以色列。

摩西把耶和華的一切話都記下了；清早起來，在山下築了一座祭壇，按著以色列十二支派立了十二根柱子。
