The Lord was with Jehoshaphat because he followed the ways of his father David before him. He did not consult the Baals

The Lord was with Jehoshaphat. That’s because he lived the way King David had lived. He didn’t ask for advice from the gods that were named Baal.

The Lord was with Jehoshaphat, because he walked in the earlier ways of his father David. He did not seek the Baals,

The Lord was with Jehoshaphat because he followed the example of his father’s early years and did not worship the images of Baal.

Now the LORD was with Jehoshaphat because he walked in the former ways of his ancestor David. He did not seek the Baals

He repaired the altar of the Lord that was in front of the portico of the Lord’s temple.Then he assembled all Judah and Benjamin and the people from Ephraim, Manasseh and Simeon who had settled among them, for large numbers had come over to him from Israel when they saw that the Lord his God was with him.They assembled at Jerusalem in the third month of the fifteenth year of Asa’s reign.At that time they sacrificed to the Lord seven hundred head of cattle and seven thousand sheep and goats from the plunder they had brought back.They entered into a covenant to seek the Lord, the God of their ancestors, with all their heart and soul.All who would not seek the Lord, the God of Israel, were to be put to death, whether small or great, man or woman. He committed all the sins his father had done before him; his heart was not fully devoted to the Lord his God, as the heart of David his forefather had been.Nevertheless, for David’s sake the Lord his God gave him a lamp in Jerusalem by raising up a son to succeed him and by making Jerusalem strong. Whenever the Lord raised up a judge for them, he was with the judge and saved them out of the hands of their enemies as long as the judge lived; for the Lord relented because of their groaning under those who oppressed and afflicted them. (niv)

Asa did what was good and right in the eyes of the Lord his God.He removed the foreign altars and the high places, smashed the sacred stones and cut down the Asherah poles.He commanded Judah to seek the Lord, the God of their ancestors, and to obey his laws and commands.He removed the high places and incense altars in every town in Judah, and the kingdom was at peace under him. (niv)

Then Asa called to the Lord his God and said,“ Lord, there is no one like you to help the powerless against the mighty. Help us, Lord our God, for we rely on you, and in your name we have come against this vast army. Lord, you are our God; do not let mere mortals prevail against you.” (niv)

Then the Israelites did evil in the eyes of the Lord and served the Baals. (niv)

No sooner had Gideon died than the Israelites again prostituted themselves to the Baals. They set up Baal- Berith as their god (niv)

Ahaz was twenty years old when he became king, and he reigned in Jerusalem sixteen years. Unlike David his father, he did not do what was right in the eyes of the Lord his God. (niv)

The Lord was with Joseph so that he prospered, and he lived in the house of his Egyptian master.When his master saw that the Lord was with him and that the Lord gave him success in everything he did, (niv)

the Lord was with him; he showed him kindness and granted him favor in the eyes of the prison warden. (niv)

He did what was right in the eyes of the Lord, but not as his father David had done. In everything he followed the example of his father Joash. (niv)
