今彼若何報我、乃來逐我、出爾所賜為業之地、

See how they are repaying us by coming to drive us out of the possession you gave us as an inheritance.

See how they are paying us back. They are coming to drive us out. They want to take over the land you gave us as our share.

behold, they reward us by coming to drive us out of your possession, which you have given us to inherit.

Now see how they reward us! For they have come to throw us out of your land, which you gave us as an inheritance.

When they had gone out of the city, and were not yet far off, Joseph said to his steward,“ Get up, follow the men; and when you overtake them, say to them,‘ Why have you repaid evil for good?

If I have repaid evil to him who was at peace with me, Or have plundered my enemy without cause,

They reward me evil for good, To the sorrow of my soul.

Whoever rewards evil for good, Evil will not depart from his house.

‘ And now the Lord God of Israel has dispossessed the Amorites from before His people Israel; should you then possess it?Will you not possess whatever Chemosh your god gives you to possess? So whatever the Lord our God takes possession of before us, we will possess.

Shall evil be repaid for good? For they have dug a pit for my life. Remember that I stood before You To speak good for them, To turn away Your wrath from them.
