The priests went into the sanctuary of the Lord to purify it. They brought out to the courtyard of the Lord’s temple everything unclean that they found in the temple of the Lord. The Levites took it and carried it out to the Kidron Valley.

亞撒王也廢掉他的祖母瑪迦太后的位，因為她曾給亞舍拉做了可憎的像；亞撒把她那可憎的像砍了下來，搗得粉碎，燒在汲淪溪旁。

你要把幔幕掛在鈎子上，把法櫃抬進幔幕裡面，這幔幕要給你們把聖所和至聖所分開。你要把施恩座安在至聖所內的法櫃上。

耶穌說完了這些話，就和門徒出去，過了汲淪溪。在那裡有一個園子，耶穌和門徒進去了。

眾祭司把耶和華的約櫃抬進放約櫃的地方，就是內殿，至聖所裡面，放在兩個基路伯的翅膀底下。

他在殿中預備了內殿，好把耶和華的約櫃安放在那裡。內殿長九公尺，寬九公尺，高九公尺；內部都貼上精金，用香柏木做的壇也貼上精金。

眾人向前走的時候，遍地的人都放聲大哭；王過了汲淪溪，眾人就都走上通往曠野去的路。

耶穌進了聖殿，把殿裡所有作買賣的人趕走，並推倒找換銀錢的人的桌子，和賣鴿子的人的凳子；又對他們說：“經上記著：‘我的殿要稱為禱告的殿。’你們竟把它弄成賊窩了。”

我必拯救你們脫離你們的一切污穢；我必叫五穀豐收，不使你們遇見饑荒。

“虛偽的經學家和法利賽人哪，你們有禍了！你們好像粉飾了的墳墓，外面好看，裡面卻裝滿了死人的骨頭和各樣的污穢；

照著天上樣式作的既然必須這樣去潔淨，天上物體的本身，就應該用更美的祭品去潔淨了。因為基督不是進了人手所做的聖所（那不過是真聖所的表象），而是進到天上，現在替我們顯露在神的面前。

因為有一個支搭好了的會幕，第一進叫作聖所，裡面有燈臺、桌子和陳設餅。在第二層幔子後面還有一個會幕，叫作至聖所，裡面有金香壇，有全部包金的約櫃，櫃裡有盛著嗎哪的金罐、亞倫那發過芽的杖和兩塊約板。櫃的上面有榮耀的基路伯罩著施恩座，關於這一切，現在不能一一細說了。這一切物件都這樣預備好了，祭司就常常進入第一進會幕，執行敬拜的事。至於第二進會幕，只有大祭司一年一次獨自進去，並且非帶著血不可，好為自己和人民的愚妄把血獻上。聖靈藉著這事表明，當第一進會幕存在的時候，進入至聖所的路，還沒有顯明出來。

他又建造了至聖所，長九公尺，和殿的寬度相等，寬度也是九公尺；裡面都貼上精金，共用了二十公噸金子。

王吩咐希勒家大祭司、副祭司和守殿門的，把所有為巴力、亞舍拉和天上的萬象所製造的器皿，從耶和華殿裡搬出去，在耶路撒冷城外汲淪谷的田野，把它們燒了。然後把它們的灰燼帶到伯特利去。他廢除了從前猶大列王所立、在猶大各城的邱壇，和耶路撒冷的周圍焚香拜偶像的祭司。又廢除向巴力、日、月、星辰和天上萬象焚香的人。他把亞舍拉像從耶和華殿裡搬走，拿到耶路撒冷外的汲淪溪去，在汲淪溪把它燒毀，磨碎成灰，把灰撒在平民的墳墓上。
