He stationed the Levites in the temple of the Lord with cymbals, harps and lyres in the way prescribed by David and Gad the king’s seer and Nathan the prophet; this was commanded by the Lord through his prophets.

Hezekiah stationed the Levites in the Lord’ s temple. They had cymbals, harps and lyres. They did everything in the way King David, his prophet Gad, and Nathan the prophet had required. The Lord had given commands about all these things through his prophets.

And he stationed the Levites in the house of the Lord with cymbals, harps, and lyres, according to the commandment of David and of Gad the king’s seer and of Nathan the prophet, for the commandment was from the Lord through his prophets.

King Hezekiah then stationed the Levites at the Temple of the Lord with cymbals, lyres, and harps. He obeyed all the commands that the Lord had given to King David through Gad, the king’s seer, and the prophet Nathan.

所羅門又照著他父親大衛所定的，設立了祭司的班次，執行他們的事奉，又派遣利未人，各守本職，讚美耶和華，在祭司面前照著每日的本分事奉。又派守門的按著班次看守各門。因為這是神人大衛的吩咐。

有四千人作守門的，又有四千人用大衛所做（“大衛所做”原文作“我做”）的樂器讚美耶和華。

歌唱的亞薩的子孫，照著大衛、亞薩、希幔和王的先見耶杜頓的吩咐，站在自己的崗位上；守門的看守各門，不用離開自己的職務，因為他們的利未親族為他們預備了祭物。

大衛和軍隊的領袖，也給亞薩、希幔和耶杜頓的子孫分派了任務，叫他們用琴瑟響鈸說預言。他們任職的人數如下：亞薩的兒子有撒刻、約瑟、尼探雅和亞薩利拉；亞薩的兒子都歸亞薩指揮，遵照王的旨意說預言。至於耶杜頓，他的兒子有基大利、西利、耶篩亞、示每、哈沙比雅和瑪他提雅，共六人，都歸他們的父親耶杜頓指揮。耶杜頓用琴說預言，稱謝和讚美耶和華。至於希幔，他的兒子有布基雅、瑪探雅、烏薛、細布業、耶利摩、哈拿尼雅、哈拿尼、以利亞他、基大利提、羅幔提．以謝、約施比加沙、瑪羅提、何提和瑪哈秀。這些人都是希幔的兒子；希幔是王的先見，照著神的話高舉他（“高舉他”原文作“高舉角”）。神賜給希幔十四個兒子，三個女兒。這些人都歸他們的父親指揮，在耶和華的殿裡歌頌，用響鈸和琴瑟在神的殿事奉。亞薩、耶杜頓和希幔都是由王指揮的。他們和他們的親族，在歌頌耶和華的事上受過特別訓練，精於歌唱的，人數共有二百八十八人。

這些是歌唱的人，是利未各家族的首領，住在殿院的房間裡，不作別的事，日夜只顧自己的事工。

大衛派了一部分利未人，在耶和華的約櫃前事奉、頌揚、稱謝和讚美耶和華以色列的神。領導的人是亞薩，其次是撒迦利雅、耶利、示米拉末、耶歇、瑪他提雅、以利押、比拿雅、俄別．以東和耶利，他們鼓瑟彈琴，亞薩敲打響鈸。

大衛又吩咐利未支派的領袖，要指派他們的親族負責歌唱，用琴瑟響鈸各種樂器，歡歡喜喜高聲歌唱。於是利未人指派了約珥的兒子希幔和他的親族中比利家的兒子亞薩，以及他們的親族米拉利的子孫中古沙雅的兒子以探。和他們一起的還有作第二班的，他們的親族：撒迦利雅、便、雅薛、示米拉末、耶歇、烏尼、以利押、比拿雅、瑪西雅、瑪他提雅、以利斐利戶、彌克尼雅，以及守門的俄別．以東和耶利。歌唱的希幔、亞薩和以探敲打銅鈸，發出響亮的聲音；撒迦利雅、雅薛、示米拉末、耶歇、烏尼、以利押、瑪西雅和比拿雅敲瑟，調用女高音；瑪他提雅、以利斐利戶、彌克尼雅、俄別．以東、耶利和亞撒西雅彈琴領導，調用男低音。利未支派的領袖基拿尼雅專責音樂，又教人音樂，因為他精通音樂。

大衛早晨起來；耶和華的話臨到迦得先知，就是大衛的先見，說：

神的能力也幫助猶大人，使他們一心遵行王和眾領袖奉耶和華的命令發出的吩咐。

希幔、耶杜頓和他們一起吹號敲鈸，以及演奏各種樂器，大聲歌頌神。耶杜頓的子孫負責守門。

大衛王一生始末的事蹟，都記在撒母耳先見的書上、拿單先知的書上和迦得先見的書上。

耶和華告訴大衛的先見迦得，說：

王對拿單先知說：“你看！我自己住在香柏木的宮裡，耶和華的約櫃卻停在帳幕內。”拿單對王說：“你可以照著你心所想的一切去作，因為耶和華與你同在。”那天晚上，耶和華的話臨到拿單說：

耶和華差派拿單去見大衛。於是拿單來到大衛那裡，對他說：“在一座城裡有兩個人，一個富有，一個貧窮。那富有的有極多牛羊，那貧窮的除了買來養的一隻母羊羔以外，甚麼也沒有。那小羊在他家裡和他的兒女一同長大，小羊吃他的食物，喝他杯中的飲料，睡在他的懷裡，就像他的女兒一樣。有一個旅客來到富翁那裡，他捨不得從自己的牛群羊群中取一頭出來，款待到他那裡來的旅客，卻取了那窮人的母羊羔，款待到他那裡來的客人。”大衛就非常惱怒那人，對拿單說：“我指著永活的耶和華起誓，作這事的人該死。他必須四倍賠償這羊羔，因為他作了這事，又因他沒有憐憫的心。”拿單對大衛說：“你就是那人！耶和華以色列的神這樣說：‘我膏立了你作以色列的王，把你從掃羅的手裡救了出來，

大衛說：“以上這一切，就是一切工作的樣式，都是耶和華用手寫給我，使我明白的。”

又把他心中所想的圖樣，就是耶和華殿的院子、四周所有的房屋、神殿裡的庫房和聖物庫房的圖樣，都指示了他；
