耶何耶大派官看守耶和華的殿，是在祭司利未人手下。這祭司利未人是大衛分派在耶和華殿中、照摩西律法上所寫的，給耶和華獻燔祭，又按大衛所定的例，歡樂歌唱；

你們要稱謝耶和華，因他本為善；他的慈愛永遠長存。

約沙法既與民商議了，就設立歌唱的人，頌讚耶和華，使他們穿上聖潔的禮服，走在軍前讚美耶和華說：「當稱謝耶和華，因他的慈愛永遠長存！」

那火降下、耶和華的榮光在殿上的時候，以色列眾人看見，就在鋪石地俯伏叩拜，稱謝耶和華說：耶和華本為善，他的慈愛永遠長存！

因為在那裏，擄掠我們的要我們唱歌，搶奪我們的要我們作樂，說：給我們唱一首錫安歌吧！我們怎能在外邦唱耶和華的歌呢？
