其時祭司尚寡、不能盡剝火焚祭牲之皮、同族利未人助之、待其事畢、亦待他祭司自潔、蓋利未人誠心自潔、較祭司尤為殷勤、

The priests, however, were too few to skin all the burnt offerings; so their relatives the Levites helped them until the task was finished and until other priests had been consecrated, for the Levites had been more conscientious in consecrating themselves than the priests had been.

But there weren’t enough priests to skin all the burnt offerings. So their relatives, the Levites, helped them. They worked until the task was finished. By that time other priests had been set apart to the Lord. The Levites had been more careful than the priests when they set themselves apart.

But the priests were too few and could not flay all the burnt offerings, so until other priests had consecrated themselves, their brothers the Levites helped them, until the work was finished— for the Levites were more upright in heart than the priests in consecrating themselves.

But there were too few priests to prepare all the burnt offerings. So their relatives the Levites helped them until the work was finished and more priests had been purified, for the Levites had been more conscientious about purifying themselves than the priests had been.

However, since there were not enough priests, they weren’t able to skin all the burnt offerings, so their Levite brothers helped them until the work was finished and until the priests consecrated themselves. For the Levites were more conscientious to consecrate themselves than the priests were.

利未人宰了逾越节的羊羔，祭司从他们的手里把血接过来，洒在坛上，利未人剥了祭牲的皮，

（但他们不能如期守逾越节，因为自洁的祭司不够，人民也没有齐集在耶路撒冷。）

我已经把你们的亲族利未人，从以色列人中拣选出来，给你们作礼物献与耶和华，为要办理会幕的事。你和你的儿子，要与你一同守你们祭司的职分，办理一切属祭坛和幔子内的事；你们要这样供职。我把祭司的职分赐给你们作服事我的赏赐；外人若是近前来，必被处死。”

神是我的盾牌，他拯救心里正直的人。

以后，利未人可以进去办理会幕的事；你要洁净他们，把他们作摇祭献上。

他们要守你所吩咐的，和会幕里的一切事，只是不可走近圣所的器具和祭坛，免得他们和你们都死亡。

因为审判必再转向公义，所有心里正直的都必顺从。

对他们说：“利未人哪，你们要听我的话；现在你们要自洁，又要洁净耶和华你们列祖的神的殿，把污秽之物从圣所中除去。

我从以色列人中，把利未人赐给亚伦和他的众子，在会幕里办理以色列人的事务，又为以色列人赎罪，免得他们走近圣所的时候，就有灾祸临到他们。”

耶和华啊！我要洗手表明无辜，才来绕着你的祭坛行走；

我的神啊，我知道你察验人心，喜悦正直；至于我，我以正直的心甘愿奉献这一切；现在我也非常欢喜看见你在这里的人民，都甘愿奉献给你。

他们遵照神人摩西的律法，按着定例，站在自己的岗位上。祭司从利未人手里把血接过来，洒在祭坛上。因为会众中有很多人还没有自洁，所以利未人必须为所有不洁的人宰杀逾越节的羊羔，使他们在耶和华面前成为圣洁。
