Then Solomon began to build the temple of the Lord in Jerusalem on Mount Moriah, where the Lord had appeared to his father David. It was on the threshing floor of Araunah the Jebusite, the place provided by David.

主之使者諭迦得往告大衛、宜上耶布斯人阿珥楠之禾場、在彼為主建祭臺、

亞伯拉罕稱其地、曰耶和華亦列、至今尚有人云、於主之山可見、

曰、可攜爾所愛獨子以撒、往摩利亞地、我將示爾一山、在彼獻之為火焚祭、

大衛曰、此主天主之殿、此以色列人獻火焚祭之祭臺、或作主天主之殿以色列人獻火焚祭之祭臺俱當在此○

以色列人出伊及後、四百八十年、乃所羅門為以色列王第四年、細弗月即二月、始建主殿、所羅門為主所建之殿、深深原文作長六十尺、尺原文作肘因古以肘為度下同廣二十尺、高三十尺、殿前之廊、長二十尺、與殿之廣同、深深原文作廣十尺、又為殿作窗、閉以斜櫺、附殿墻、前殿後殿四周、旁建樓房、下層深深原文作廣五尺、中層深深原文作廣六尺、上層深深原文作廣七尺、殿外四周、間以隙地、使側樓不致貼殿墻而損之、建殿之石、俱山中已鑿之完石、建殿時、不聞鎚斧鐵器之聲、下層當中之房之門、在殿右、房內有旋螺階、由之可登中層、自中層可登上層、上層原文作第三層建殿墻已畢、乃置柏香木棟梁、又以柏香木板蔽墻、殿之四周、旁建樓房、每層樓高五尺、上接殿之柏香木棟梁、主諭所羅門曰、爾建此殿、如爾遵行我之律例法度、遵行謹守我一切誡命、則昔所許爾父大衛之言、我必踐之、我必居於以色列人中、不擯棄我民以色列、○所羅門建殿已畢、

時迦得來見大衛曰、爾起、為主建祭臺、在耶布斯人亞勞拿之禾場、大衛遵主之命、循迦得之言、上其禾場、亞勞拿觀望、見王與臣僕、向己而來、遂出、伏地拜王、曰、我主我王、蒞臨僕所何故、大衛曰、欲購爾之禾場、為主建祭臺、使瘟疫止於民間、亞勞拿謂王曰、我主我王可取所欲取者而獻之、在此有牛、可為火焚祭、有打禾之器與牛軛、可以為柴、王歟、此一切亞勞拿悉奉於王、亞勞拿又謂王曰、願主爾之天主悅納爾、王謂亞勞拿曰、不然、我欲購之、必以其值予爾、我不欲以不費而得之物、獻火焚祭於主我之天主、大衛遂以銀五十舍客勒購禾場與牛、在彼為主建祭臺、獻火焚祭及平安祭、於是主衿恤國民、垂聽所祈、瘟疫遂止於以色列人中、
