但祭司太少，不能剝盡所有燔祭牲的皮，所以他們的弟兄利未人幫助他們，直等獻祭的事完畢，直到其他的祭司也分別為聖了；因利未人以正直的心分別為聖，勝過祭司。

約西亞從羣畜中賜給所有在場的百姓，三萬隻小綿羊和小山羊，三千頭牛，作逾越節的祭物；這些都是出自王的產業。約西亞的眾領袖也樂意把祭牲給百姓、祭司和利未人；管理神殿的希勒家、撒迦利亞、耶歇，把二千六百隻羔羊和三百頭牛給祭司作逾越節的祭物。

所以有話說：「他升上高天的時候，擄掠了俘虜，將各樣的恩賜賞給人。」

王的本分是在節期、初一、安息日，就是以色列家一切的盛會，奉上燔祭、素祭、澆酒祭。他要獻上贖罪祭、素祭、燔祭和平安祭，為以色列家贖罪。」

那時他們不能守，因為分別為聖的祭司不夠，百姓也還沒有聚集在耶路撒冷。

此外，因我愛慕我神的殿，在預備建造聖殿的一切材料之外，又將我自己積蓄的金銀獻給我神的殿，就是三千他連得俄斐金子、七千他連得純銀，用來貼殿的牆；金子做金器，銀子做銀器，並藉工匠的手做一切的工。今日有誰願意將自己獻給耶和華呢？」於是，眾族長和以色列各支派的領袖、千夫長、百夫長，以及監管王工作的官長，都樂意奉獻。他們為神殿的工程獻上五千他連得又一萬達利克金子，一萬他連得銀子，一萬八千他連得銅，十萬他連得鐵。凡有寶石的都送入耶和華殿的庫房，由革順人耶歇的手管理。因這些人全心樂意獻給耶和華，百姓就歡喜，大衛王也大大歡喜。
