Hezekiah is the one who eliminated the LORD’s high places and altars and then told Judah and Jerusalem,“ At one altar you must worship and offer sacrifices.”

此希西家曾廢天主之邱壇與祭臺、且命猶大及耶路撒冷民曰、爾惟在一祭臺前崇拜、在此祭臺上焚香、

Did not Hezekiah himself remove this god’s high places and altars, saying to Judah and Jerusalem,‘ You must worship before one altar and burn sacrifices on it’?

Didn’t Hezekiah himself remove your god’s high places and altars? Didn’t Hezekiah say to the people of Judah and Jerusalem,“ You must worship at one altar. You must burn sacrifices on it”?

Has not this same Hezekiah taken away his high places and his altars and commanded Judah and Jerusalem,“ Before one altar you shall worship, and on it you shall burn your sacrifices”?

Don’t you realize that Hezekiah is the very person who destroyed all the Lord’s shrines and altars? He commanded Judah and Jerusalem to worship only at the altar at the Temple and to offer sacrifices on it alone.

Didn’t Hezekiah himself remove his high places and his altars and say to Judah and Jerusalem,“ You must worship before one altar, and you must burn incense on it”?

Is it not the same Hezekiah who removed His high places and His altars, and said to Judah and Jerusalem,“ You shall worship before one altar, and on it you shall burn incense”?

Has not the same Hezekiah taken away His high places and His altars, and commanded Judah and Jerusalem, saying,“ You shall worship before one altar and burn incense on it”?

Hath not the same Hezekiah taken away his high places and his altars, and commanded Judah and Jerusalem, saying, Ye shall worship before one altar, and upon it shall ye burn incense?

Didn’t Hezekiah himself remove His high places and His altars and say to Judah and Jerusalem,“ You must worship before one altar, and you must burn incense on it”?

When all this was over, the Israelites who were in the cities of Judah went out and smashed the sacred pillars, cut down the Asherah poles, and demolished all the high places and altars throughout Judah, Benjamin, Ephraim, and Manasseh. Then all the Israelites returned to their own homes in their cities.

“ You are to make an altar for burning incense; you are to make it of acacia wood.Its length is to be a foot and a half and its width a foot and a half; it will be square. Its height is to be three feet, with its horns of one piece with it.You are to overlay it with pure gold– its top, its four walls, and its horns– and make a surrounding border of gold for it.You are to make two gold rings for it under its border, on its two flanks; you are to make them on its two sides. The rings will be places for poles to carry it with.You are to make the poles of acacia wood and overlay them with gold.“ You are to put it in front of the curtain that is before the ark of the testimony( before the atonement lid that is over the testimony), where I will meet you.

He eliminated the high places, smashed the sacred pillars to bits, and cut down the Asherah pole. He also demolished the bronze serpent that Moses had made, for up to that time the Israelites had been offering incense to it; it was called Nehushtan.

Perhaps you will tell me,‘ We are trusting in the LORD our God.’ But Hezekiah is the one who eliminated his high places and altars and then told the people of Judah and Jerusalem,‘ You must worship at this altar.’

And he put the gold altar in the tent of meeting in front of the curtain,and he burned fragrant incense on it, just as the LORD had commanded Moses.Then he put the curtain at the entrance to the tabernacle.He also put the altar for the burnt offering by the entrance to the tabernacle, the tent of meeting, and offered on it the burnt offering and the meal offering, just as the LORD had commanded Moses.

“ You are to make the altar of acacia wood, seven feet six inches long, and seven feet six inches wide; the altar is to be square, and its height is to be four feet six inches.You are to make its four horns on its four corners; its horns will be part of it, and you are to overlay it with bronze.You are to make its pots for the ashes, its shovels, its tossing bowls, its meat hooks, and its fire pans– you are to make all its utensils of bronze.You are to make a grating for it, a network of bronze, and you are to make on the network four bronze rings on its four corners.You are to put it under the ledge of the altar below, so that the network will come halfway up the altar.You are to make poles for the altar, poles of acacia wood, and you are to overlay them with bronze.The poles are to be put into the rings so that the poles will be on two sides of the altar when carrying it.You are to make the altar hollow, out of boards. Just as it was shown you on the mountain, so they must make it.

Make sure you do not offer burnt offerings in any place you wish,for you may do so only in the place the LORD chooses in one of your tribal areas– there you may do everything I am commanding you.

Only the holy things and votive offerings that belong to you, you must pick up and take to the place the LORD will choose.You must offer your burnt offerings, both meat and blood, on the altar of the LORD your God; the blood of your other sacrifices you must pour out on his altar while you eat the meat.

Perhaps you will tell me,‘ We are trusting in the LORD our God.’ But Hezekiah is the one who eliminated his high places and altars and then told the people of Judah and Jerusalem,‘ You must worship at this altar in Jerusalem.’

He made a bronze altar, 30 feet long, 30 feet wide, and 15 feet high.

Solomon also made all these items for the LORD’s temple: the gold altar, the gold table on which was kept the Bread of the Presence,
