He did evil in the eyes of the Lord, following the detestable practices of the nations the Lord had driven out before the Israelites.

Manasseh did what was evil in the eyes of the Lord. He followed the practices of the nations. The Lord hated those practices. The Lord had driven out those nations to make room for the Israelites.

And he did what was evil in the sight of the Lord, according to the abominations of the nations whom the Lord drove out before the people of Israel.

He did what was evil in the Lord’s sight, following the detestable practices of the pagan nations that the Lord had driven from the land ahead of the Israelites.

He did what was evil in the LORD’s sight, imitating the detestable practices of the nations that the LORD had dispossessed before the Israelites.

He did evil in the sight of the Lord according to the abominations of the nations whom the Lord dispossessed before the sons of Israel.

並且在欣嫩子谷燒香，用火焚燒自己的兒女，像耶和華在以色列人面前驅走的外族人所行可厭惡的事一樣；

“你到了耶和華你的神要賜給你的那地的時候，那些外族人可厭可惡的事，你不可學習去行。

你不可向耶和華你的神這樣行，因為耶和華恨惡的一切可厭惡的事，他們都向他們的神行了，甚至把自己的兒女用火焚燒，獻給他們的神。

他們在各邱壇上獻祭和焚香，好像耶和華從他們的面前擄去的外族人一樣，又行惡事，使耶和華發怒。

厭棄他的律例和他與他們的祖先訂立的約，以及他對他們的警戒；卻信從虛無的神，自己成為虛妄，跟從他們周圍的外族人，耶和華曾吩咐他們不可跟從他們的行為。

我們怎可以再違背你的誡命，與這些行可憎事的民族通婚呢？如果我們這樣行，你豈不向我們發怒，消滅我們，以致沒有一個剩餘，或是逃脫的人嗎？

但是他們沒有聽從。瑪拿西引誘他們去作壞事，比耶和華從以色列人面前消滅的外族人更厲害。

你們就知道我是耶和華。這是因為你們沒有遵行我的律例，也沒有遵守我的典章，卻效法你們周圍列國的習俗去行。’”

“你們不可讓這些事的任何一件玷污自己，因為我將要從你們面前趕出去的各族，就是被這些事玷污了自己。連地也被玷污，所以我追討那地的罪孽，那地就把居民吐出去。所以，你們要謹守我的律例和典章；這一切可憎的事，無論是本地人或是在你們中間寄居的外人，一件都不可作（因為在你們以前住在那地的人，行了這一切可憎的事，就玷污了自己）；免得你們玷污那地，那地就把你們吐出去，像吐出了在你們以前的各民族一樣。無論甚麼人，行了一件這些可憎的事，必從自己的族人中被剪除。所以你們要謹守我的吩咐，免得你們行那些可憎的風俗，就是你們以前的人所行的，玷污了自己。我是耶和華你們的神。”

“所以你們要謹守遵行我的一切律例和一切典章，免得我將要領你們進去居住的那地，把你們吐出來。我從你們面前逐出的各民族，你們不可隨從他們的風俗；因為他們行了這一切事，所以我厭惡他們。

此外，所有的祭司長和人民也都大大地得罪神，隨從列國所行一切可憎的事；他們污穢了耶和華在耶路撒冷分別為聖的殿。

“因為你要趕走的那些民族，都聽從算命的和占卜的；至於你，耶和華你的神卻不容許你這樣行。

反而和外族人混居雜處，學習他們的風俗習慣。他們又事奉外族人的偶像，這就成了他們的網羅。他們把自己的兒女祭祀鬼魔。他們流了無辜人的血，就是他們自己兒女的血，把他們祭祀迦南的偶像；那地就被血污穢了。這樣，他們因自己所作的成了不潔，他們的行為使他們犯了邪淫。所以耶和華的怒氣向他的子民發作；他厭惡自己的產業，

“因猶大王希西家的兒子瑪拿西在耶路撒冷的所作所為，我必使地上萬國看見他們的遭遇就驚恐。”

他行耶和華看為惡的事，好像耶和華在以色列人面前趕走的民族所行的可憎惡的事。
