耶路撒冷的房屋和犹大君王的宫殿，就是他们在其上向天上的万象烧香、向别神献浇酒祭的宫殿房屋，都必被玷污，和陀斐特一样。’”

从前犹大列王所立拜偶像的祭司，在犹大城镇的丘坛和耶路撒冷周围烧香，现在王都废去，他们是向巴力和日、月、行星，以及天上万象烧香的人。他把亚舍拉从耶和华殿里搬到耶路撒冷外的汲沦溪，在汲沦溪边焚烧，打碎成灰，把灰撒在平民的坟上。

又恐怕你向天举目，看见耶和华—你的神为天下万民所摆列的日月星辰，就是天上的万象，就被诱惑去敬拜它们，事奉它们。

以色列人行耶和华眼中看为恶的事，去事奉诸巴力。他们离弃领他们出埃及地的耶和华—他们列祖的神，去随从别神，就是四围列国的神明，向它们叩拜，惹耶和华发怒。他们离弃了耶和华，去事奉巴力和亚斯她录。

希西家岂不是将耶和华的丘坛和祭坛废去，并且吩咐犹大与耶路撒冷的人说：你们当在一个坛前敬拜，在其上烧香吗？

因为他们在各高冈上，各青翠树下筑丘坛，立柱像和亚舍拉。

他们的儿女思念他们在高冈上、青翠树旁的祭坛和亚舍拉。

散布在太阳、月亮和天上众星之下，就是他们从前所喜爱、所事奉、所随从、所求问、所敬拜的。这些骸骨不被收殓，不被埋葬，必在地面上成为粪土。

但是神转脸不顾，任凭他们祭拜天上的日月星辰，正如先知书上所写的：‘以色列家啊，你们四十年间在旷野，何曾将牺牲和祭物献给我？

他重新建筑他父亲希西家所毁坏的丘坛，又为巴力筑坛，造亚舍拉，效法以色列王亚哈所行的，敬拜天上的万象，事奉它们。

那人是智慧是愚昧，谁能知道呢？他竟要掌管我在日光之下用智慧劳碌所得的。这也是虚空。

他把在耶和华殿门旁、靠近拿单‧米勒官员走廊的屋子，犹大列王献给太阳的马废去，且用火焚烧献给太阳的战车。

却行以色列诸王的道，又铸造诸巴力的像，照着耶和华从以色列人面前赶出的外邦人所行可憎的事，在欣嫩子谷烧香，用火焚烧他的儿女，又在丘坛上、山冈上、各青翠树下献祭烧香。
