爾聞我指此地、與其居民所言、乃中心柔順、自卑於上帝前、裂衣哭泣、我俞允爾、耶和華言之矣、

知我譴責斯邑、爰及民人、爾則中心畏懼、自怨自艾、裂衣泣哭於我前、我允爾祈、

聞我指此處及其居民所言、爾則中心敬服、於我前自卑、裂衣、哭於我前、故我俯聽爾、使爾平康歸爾列祖、歸爾墓中、我所將降於此處及其居民之諸災、不使爾目睹之、此乃主所言、使者返、復言於王、○

Because your heart was responsive and you humbled yourself before God when you heard what he spoke against this place and its people, and because you humbled yourself before me and tore your robes and wept in my presence, I have heard you, declares the Lord.

The Lord says,“ Your heart was tender. You made yourself humble in my sight. You heard what I spoke against this place and its people. So you made yourself humble. You tore your royal robes and wept. And I have heard you,” announces the Lord.

because your heart was tender and you humbled yourself before God when you heard his words against this place and its inhabitants, and you have humbled yourself before me and have torn your clothes and wept before me, I also have heard you, declares the Lord.

You were sorry and humbled yourself before God when you heard his words against this city and its people. You humbled yourself and tore your clothing in despair and wept before me in repentance. And I have indeed heard you, says the Lord.

但希西家和耶路撒冷的居民为了心里骄傲，就一同谦卑，以致耶和华的愤怒在希西家的日子没有临到他们。

王听见律法的话，就撕裂衣服。

那至高无上、永远长存、名为圣者的如此说：“我住在至高至圣的所在，却与心灵痛悔的谦卑人同住；要使谦卑的人心灵苏醒，使痛悔的人内心复苏。

犹底念了三、四段，王就用文士的刀把书卷割破，丢在火盆里，直到全卷在火中烧尽了。王和听见这一切话的臣仆都不惧怕，也不撕裂衣服。

耶和华见他们谦卑，耶和华的话就临到示玛雅，说：“他们既谦卑，我必不灭绝他们；我要使他们暂时得拯救，不藉着示撒的手将我的怒气倒在耶路撒冷。

我也要赐给你们一颗新心，将新灵放在你们里面，又从你们的肉体中除掉石心，赐给你们肉心。

耶和华对他说：“你去走遍耶路撒冷全城，那些为城中所做可憎之事叹息哀哭的人，你要在他们额上做记号。”

耶和华靠近伤心的人，拯救心灵痛悔的人。

耶和华啊，困苦人的心愿你早已听见；你必坚固他们的心，也必侧耳听他们的祈求，

他们尚未求告，我就应允；正说话的时候，我就垂听。

然而，派你们来求问耶和华的犹大王，你们要这样回覆他：‘耶和华—以色列的神如此说：至于你所听见的话，就是听见我指着这地方和其上的居民说，要使这地方变为荒芜、百姓受诅咒的话，你的心就软化，在耶和华面前谦卑下来，撕裂衣服，向我哭泣，因此我应允你。这是耶和华说的。

他的祷告，神怎样应允他，他未谦卑以前的一切罪愆过犯，以及在何处建筑丘坛，设立亚舍拉和雕刻的偶像，看哪，都写在何赛的书上。

但是他赐更多的恩典，正如经上说：“神抵挡骄傲的人，但赐恩给谦卑的人。”所以，要顺服神。要抵挡魔鬼，魔鬼就必逃避你们；要亲近神，神就必亲近你们。有罪的人哪，要洁净你们的手！心怀二意的人哪，要清洁你们的心！你们要愁苦，悲哀，哭泣；要将欢笑变为悲哀，欢乐变为愁闷。要在主面前谦卑，他就使你们高升。

这一切是我手所造的，这一切就都存在了。我所看顾的是困苦、灵里痛悔、因我言语而战兢的人。这是耶和华说的。

神所要的祭就是忧伤的灵；神啊，忧伤痛悔的心，你必不轻看。

他在急难的时候恳求耶和华—他的神，并在他列祖的神面前极其谦卑。

希西家岂不是将耶和华的丘坛和祭坛废去，并且吩咐犹大与耶路撒冷的人说：你们当在一个坛前敬拜，在其上烧香吗？我与我祖先向列邦民族所行的，你们岂不知道吗？列邦的神明何尝能救自己的国脱离我的手呢？
