In the towns of Manasseh, Ephraim and Simeon, as far as Naphtali, and in the ruins around them,

Josiah went to the towns of Manasseh, Ephraim and Simeon. He went all the way to Naphtali. He also went to the destroyed places around all those towns.

And in the cities of Manasseh, Ephraim, and Simeon, and as far as Naphtali, in their ruins all around,

He did the same thing in the towns of Manasseh, Ephraim, and Simeon, even as far as Naphtali, and in the regions all around them.

He did the same in the cities of Manasseh, Ephraim, and Simeon, and as far as Naphtali and on their surrounding mountain shrines.

In the cities of Manasseh, Ephraim, Simeon, and as far as Naphtali, in their surrounding spaces,

And so he did in the cities of Manasseh, Ephraim, and Simeon, as far as Naphtali and all around, with axes.

And so did he in the cities of Manasseh and Ephraim and Simeon, even unto Naphtali, in their ruins round about.

He did the same in the cities of Manasseh, Ephraim, and Simeon, and as far as Naphtali and on their surrounding mountain shrines.

And[ so did he] in the cities of Manasseh, and Ephraim, and Simeon, even unto Naphtali, with their mattocks round about.

He did this in the cities of Manasseh, Ephraim, and Simeon, even to Naphtali, around in their ruins.

当一切都办妥后，所有在场的以色列人就前往犹大各城邑，打碎神柱，砍倒亚舍拉神像，又拆毁犹大、便雅悯、以法莲、玛拿西境内所有的丘坛和祭坛，然后各自返回自己的城邑和家园。

以色列人都要到非利士的铁匠那里去磨锄、犁、斧和铲。磨锄或犁要花八克银子，磨三齿叉、斧头或赶畜棒要花四克银子。

信差将这通告逐城传遍以法莲和玛拿西，直到西布伦，可是那些地方的人却嘲笑、戏弄他们。然而，有些亚设人、玛拿西人和西布伦人谦卑悔改，来到耶路撒冷。

他拆掉伯特利高岗上的祭坛，即尼八的儿子耶罗波安诱使以色列人犯罪时建造的祭坛，把祭坛烧毁，捣碎成灰，又焚烧亚舍拉神像。约西亚转身看见山上的坟墓，就派人取出墓中的尸骨，放在那祭坛上焚烧，污渎了那祭坛，应验了耶和华借祂的仆人所说的预言。约西亚问：“我看到的那墓碑是谁的？”那城里的人告诉他：“是上帝仆人的，他曾从犹大来预言你对伯特利祭坛所做的这些事。”他说：“不要动他，不要动他的尸骨。”于是，他们没有动那位先知和撒玛利亚来的先知的尸骨。他拆毁以色列各王从前建在撒玛利亚各城高岗上、惹耶和华发怒的丘坛，就像他在伯特利所做的一样。他在祭坛上杀死那些丘坛的祭司，又在坛上焚烧死人骨头。之后，他返回耶路撒冷。

作伪证陷害邻舍的人，无异于大锤、刀和利箭。

希西迦派人通告以色列和犹大全境，又写信通知以法莲人和玛拿西人，叫他们到耶路撒冷耶和华的殿，向以色列的上帝耶和华守逾越节。

你因惧怕荆棘和蒺藜，将不再去从前用锄头开垦的山地，那里将成为牧放牛羊的地方。”
