這二祭司對待百姓的規矩是這樣：凡有人獻祭，正煮肉的時候，祭司的僕人就手拿三齒的叉子來，將叉子往盆裏，或鍋裏，或釜裏，或壺裏一插，插上來的肉，祭司都拿了去。他們對所有上到示羅的以色列人都這樣做。甚至在未燒脂肪之前，祭司的僕人就來對獻祭的人說：「把肉給祭司，讓他烤吧。他不要拿你煮過的肉，要生的。」

你要在耶和華－你上帝所選擇的地方把肉烤來吃，次日早晨就回到你的帳棚去。

煮這祭物的瓦器要打碎；若祭物是在銅器裏煮，要把這銅器擦淨，用水沖洗。

所有過路的人哪，願這事不要發生在你們身上。你們要留意觀看，有像這樣臨到我的痛苦沒有？耶和華在他發烈怒的日子使我受苦。他從高處降火進入我的骨頭，剋制了我；他張開網，絆我的腳，使我退後，又令我終日淒涼發昏。

殷勤，不可懶惰。要靈裏火熱；常常服侍主。

我如水被倒出，我的骨頭都脫了節，我的心如蠟，在我裏面熔化。

他剃了離俗的頭以後，祭司要取那煮好的公綿羊的一條前腿，連同籃子裏的一塊無酵餅和一塊無酵薄餅，放在他手掌上。
