In the first year of Cyrus king of Persia, in order to fulfill the word of the Lord spoken by Jeremiah, the Lord moved the heart of Cyrus king of Persia to make a proclamation throughout his realm and also to put it in writing:

It was the first year of the rule of Cyrus. He was king of Persia. The Lord inspired him to send a message all through his kingdom. It happened so that what the Lord had spoken through Jeremiah would come true. The message was written down. It said,

Now in the first year of Cyrus king of Persia, that the word of the Lord by the mouth of Jeremiah might be fulfilled, the Lord stirred up the spirit of Cyrus king of Persia, so that he made a proclamation throughout all his kingdom and also put it in writing:

In the first year of King Cyrus of Persia, the Lord fulfilled the prophecy he had given through Jeremiah. He stirred the heart of Cyrus to put this proclamation in writing and to send it throughout his kingdom:

In the first year of King Cyrus of Persia, in order to fulfill the word of the LORD spoken through Jeremiah, the LORD roused the spirit of King Cyrus of Persia to issue a proclamation throughout his entire kingdom and also to put it in writing:

Now in the first year of Cyrus king of Persia— in order to fulfill the word of the Lord by the mouth of Jeremiah— the Lord stirred up the spirit of Cyrus king of Persia so that he sent a proclamation throughout his kingdom, and also put it in writing, saying,

In the first year of Cyrus king of Persia, the word of the Lord spoken through Jeremiah was fulfilled. The Lord put it into the mind of King Cyrus of Persia to issue a proclamation throughout his entire kingdom and also to put it in writing:

Now in the first year of Cyrus king of Persia, that the word of the LORD[ spoken] by the mouth of Jeremiah might be accomplished, the LORD stirred up the spirit of Cyrus king of Persia, that he made a proclamation throughout all his kingdom, and[ put it] also in writing, saying,

In the first year of the reign of King Cyrus of Persia, in fulfillment of the promise he delivered through Jeremiah, the LORD moved King Cyrus of Persia to issue a written decree throughout his kingdom.

Now in the first year of Cyrus king of Persia, that Yahweh’s word by the mouth of Jeremiah might be accomplished, Yahweh stirred up the spirit of Cyrus king of Persia, so that he made a proclamation throughout all his kingdom, and put it also in writing, saying,

七十年满了以后，我必惩罚巴比伦王和那国，并迦勒底人之地，因他们的罪孽使那地永远荒凉。这是耶和华说的。

“耶和华如此说：为巴比伦所定的七十年满了以后，我要眷顾你们，向你们实现我的恩言，使你们归回此地。

波斯王居鲁士元年，耶和华为要应验藉耶利米的口所说的话，就激发波斯王居鲁士的心，使他下诏书通告全国，说：“波斯王居鲁士如此说：耶和华天上的神已将地上万国赐给我，又委派我在犹大的耶路撒冷为他建造殿宇。你们中间凡作他子民的，可以上犹大的耶路撒冷去，重建耶和华—以色列神的殿，他是在耶路撒冷的神；愿神与这人同在。

这就应验耶和华藉耶利米的口所说的话：地得享安息；在荒凉的日子，地就守安息，直到满了七十年。

波斯王居鲁士第三年，有话指示那称为伯提沙撒的但以理。这话是确实的，指着大战争；但以理明白这话，明白这异象。

于是，犹大和便雅悯的族长、祭司、利未人，凡是心被神感动的人都起来，要上耶路撒冷去建造耶和华的殿。

耶和华如此说：“你们论这地方，说是荒废、无人、无牲畜之地，但在这荒凉、无人、无居民、无牲畜的犹大城镇和耶路撒冷街上，必再听见欢喜和快乐的声音、新郎和新娘的声音，并听见有人说：你们要称谢万军之耶和华，因耶和华本为善，他的慈爱永远长存！他们奉感谢祭到耶和华的殿中；因为我必使这地被掳的人归回，如起初一样。这是耶和华说的。”万军之耶和华如此说：“在这荒废、无人、无牲畜之地，并其中所有的城镇，必再有牧人的草场，可让羊群躺卧在那里。在山区的城镇、谢非拉的城镇、尼革夫的城镇、便雅悯地、耶路撒冷四围的各处和犹大的城镇，必再有羊群从数点的人手下经过。这是耶和华说的。“看哪，日子将到，我应许以色列家和犹大家的恩言必然实现。这是耶和华说的。

论居鲁士说：‘他是我的牧人，他要成就我所喜悦的，下令建造耶路撒冷，发命令立稳圣殿的根基。’”耶和华对所膏的居鲁士如此说，他的右手我曾搀扶，使列国降服在他面前，列王的腰带我曾松开，使城门在他面前敞开，不得关闭：“我要在你前面行，修平崎岖之地。我必打破铜门，砍断铁闩。我要将暗中的宝物和隐藏的财富赐给你，使你知道提名召你的就是我—耶和华，以色列的神。因我的仆人雅各，我所拣选的以色列，我提名召你；你虽不认识我，我也加给你名号。我是耶和华，再没有别的了；除了我以外再没有神。你虽不认识我，我必给你束腰。

看哪，我必激起玛代人攻击他们，玛代人并不看重银子，也不喜爱金子。他们必用弓击溃青年，不怜悯妇人所生的；眼也不顾惜孩子。

“因为耶和华如此说：我怎样使这一切大灾祸临到这百姓，也要照样使我所应许他们的一切福乐都临到他们。你们所说荒凉、无人、无牲畜，已交给迦勒底人手的这地，必有人购置田地。在便雅悯地、耶路撒冷四围的各处、犹大的城镇、山地的城镇、谢非拉的城镇，并尼革夫的城镇，人必用银子买田地，在契上签字，将契封缄，找人作证，因为我必使被掳的人归回。这是耶和华说的。”

神又使以利亚大的儿子利逊兴起，作所罗门的敌人。他曾逃避主人琐巴王哈大底谢。

我吩咐我所分别为圣的人，召唤我的勇士，就是我那狂喜高傲的人，为要执行我的怒气。听啊，山间有喧闹的声音，好像有许多百姓聚集，听啊，多国之民聚集闹哄的声音；这是万军之耶和华召集作战的军队。他们从远方来，从天边来，耶和华和他恼恨的兵器要毁灭全地。

耶和华激发非利士人和靠近古实人的阿拉伯人的心来攻击约兰。

因此，以色列的神激发亚述王普勒，就是亚述王提革拉‧毗列色的心，他掳掠了吕便人、迦得人、玛拿西半支派的人，把他们带到哈腊、哈博、哈拉与歌散河边，直到今日。

耶和华激发撒拉铁的儿子犹大省长所罗巴伯、约撒答的儿子约书亚大祭司，和所有幸存百姓的心，他们就来为万军之耶和华—他们神的殿做工。

又通告犹大和耶路撒冷，要将神仆人摩西在旷野所吩咐以色列的捐献送来给耶和华。

于是他们下令，通告全以色列，从别是巴直到但，吩咐百姓都来，在耶路撒冷向耶和华—以色列的神守逾越节，因为他们已经许久没有照所写的守这节了。

现在求我主我王听仆人的话：若是耶和华激发你来攻击我，愿耶和华悦纳供物；若是出于人，愿他们在耶和华面前受诅咒，因为他们今日赶逐我，不让我在耶和华的产业中有分，说：‘你去事奉别神吧！’

因为必有许多国家和大君王使迦勒底人作奴仆；我也必照他们的行为，按他们手所做的报应他们。”

我们要坚守所宣认的指望，毫不动摇，因为应许我们的那位是信实的。

耶和华使以东人哈达兴起，作所罗门的敌人；他是以东王的后裔。
