蓋我儕之戰具、非屬血氣、乃賴天主、有力能破諸堅壘、

因吾人作戰之武器、非屬形而下者、顧賴主之力其效能則足以掃蕩一切險固之壁壘。

The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world. On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds.

The weapons I fight with are not the weapons the world uses. In fact, it is just the opposite. My weapons have the power of God to destroy the camps of the enemy.

For the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh but have divine power to destroy strongholds.

We use God’s mighty weapons, not worldly weapons, to knock down the strongholds of human reasoning and to destroy false arguments.

But there was no sword in the hand of David.

that your faith should not be in the wisdom of men but in the power of God.

But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellence of the power may be of God and not of us.

So he answered and said to me:“ This is the word of the Lord to Zerubbabel:‘ Not by might nor by power, but by My Spirit,’ Says the Lord of hosts.‘ Who are you, O great mountain? Before Zerubbabel you shall become a plain! And he shall bring forth the capstone With shouts of“ Grace, grace to it!”’”

And do not present your members as instruments of unrighteousness to sin, but present yourselves to God as being alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness to God.

But let us who are of the day be sober, putting on the breastplate of faith and love, and as a helmet the hope of salvation.

The night is far spent, the day is at hand. Therefore let us cast off the works of darkness, and let us put on the armor of light.

Not that we are sufficient of ourselves to think of anything as being from ourselves, but our sufficiency is from God,

Into his hand God has delivered Midian and the whole camp.”And so it was, when Gideon heard the telling of the dream and its interpretation, that he worshiped. He returned to the camp of Israel, and said,“ Arise, for the Lord has delivered the camp of Midian into your hand.”Then he divided the three hundred men into three companies, and he put a trumpet into every man’s hand, with empty pitchers, and torches inside the pitchers.And he said to them,“ Look at me and do likewise; watch, and when I come to the edge of the camp you shall do as I do:When I blow the trumpet, I and all who are with me, then you also blow the trumpets on every side of the whole camp, and say,‘ The sword of the Lord and of Gideon!’”So Gideon and the hundred men who were with him came to the outpost of the camp at the beginning of the middle watch, just as they had posted the watch; and they blew the trumpets and broke the pitchers that were in their hands.Then the three companies blew the trumpets and broke the pitchers— they held the torches in their left hands and the trumpets in their right hands for blowing— and they cried,“ The sword of the Lord and of Gideon!”And every man stood in his place all around the camp; and the whole army ran and cried out and fled.When the three hundred blew the trumpets, the Lord set every man’s sword against his companion throughout the whole camp; and the army fled to Beth Acacia, toward Zererah, as far as the border of Abel Meholah, by Tabbath.And the men of Israel gathered together from Naphtali, Asher, and all Manasseh, and pursued the Midianites.

The Lord shall send the rod of Your strength out of Zion. Rule in the midst of Your enemies!

You therefore must endure hardship as a good soldier of Jesus Christ.

Therefore I write these things being absent, lest being present I should use sharpness, according to the authority which the Lord has given me for edification and not for destruction.

Who ever goes to war at his own expense? Who plants a vineyard and does not eat of its fruit? Or who tends a flock and does not drink of the milk of the flock?

For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God.For it is written:“ I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, And bring to nothing the understanding of the prudent.”Where is the wise? Where is the scribe? Where is the disputer of this age? Has not God made foolish the wisdom of this world?For since, in the wisdom of God, the world through wisdom did not know God, it pleased God through the foolishness of the message preached to save those who believe.For Jews request a sign, and Greeks seek after wisdom;but we preach Christ crucified, to the Jews a stumbling block and to the Greeks foolishness,but to those who are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God and the wisdom of God.
