凡妄自尊大之幻想、違抗天主聖道之妄念、皆在摧毀之列；務使一思一念、順服基督而後已。

We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ.

I destroy every claim and every reason that keeps people from knowing God. I keep every thought under control in order to make it obey Christ.

The wicked need to abandon their lifestyle and sinful people their plans. They should return to the LORD, and he will show mercy to them, and to their God, for he will freely forgive them.

For the word of God is living and active and sharper than any double- edged sword, piercing even to the point of dividing soul from spirit, and joints from marrow; it is able to judge the desires and thoughts of the heart.

Like obedient children, do not comply with the evil urges you used to follow in your ignorance,but, like the Holy One who called you, become holy yourselves in all of your conduct,

For out of the heart come evil ideas, murder, adultery, sexual immorality, theft, false testimony, slander.

But I see a different law in my members waging war against the law of my mind and making me captive to the law of sin that is in my members.

For the wisdom of this age is foolishness with God. As it is written,“ He catches the wise in their craftiness.”

For although they knew God, they did not glorify him as God or give him thanks, but they became futile in their thoughts and their senseless hearts were darkened.

“ Oh people of Jerusalem, purify your hearts from evil so that you may yet be delivered. How long will you continue to harbor up wicked schemes within you?

Proud men will be brought low, arrogant men will be humiliated; the LORD alone will be exalted in that day.Indeed, the LORD who commands armies has planned a day of judgment, for all the high and mighty, for all who are proud– they will be humiliated;

For it is written,“ I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, and I will thwart the cleverness of the intelligent.”

You have purified your souls by obeying the truth in order to show sincere mutual love. So love one another earnestly from a pure heart.

The LORD abhors the plans of the wicked, but pleasant words are pure.

Take my yoke on you and learn from me, because I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.For my yoke is easy to bear, and my load is not hard to carry.”

You know when I sit down and when I get up; even from far away you understand my motives.

The wicked man is so arrogant he always thinks,“ God won’t hold me accountable; he doesn’t care.”

And by being perfected in this way, he became the source of eternal salvation to all who obey him,

All the trees of the field will know that I am the LORD. I make the high tree low; I raise up the low tree. I make the green tree wither, and I make the dry tree sprout. I, the LORD, have spoken, and I will do it!’”

– though mine too are significant. If someone thinks he has good reasons to put confidence in human credentials, I have more:I was circumcised on the eighth day, from the people of Israel and the tribe of Benjamin, a Hebrew of Hebrews. I lived according to the law as a Pharisee.In my zeal for God I persecuted the church. According to the righteousness stipulated in the law I was blameless.But these assets I have come to regard as liabilities because of Christ.More than that, I now regard all things as liabilities compared to the far greater value of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord, for whom I have suffered the loss of all things– indeed, I regard them as dung!– that I may gain Christ,and be found in him, not because I have my own righteousness derived from the law, but because I have the righteousness that comes by way of Christ’s faithfulness– a righteousness from God that is in fact based on Christ’s faithfulness.

A foolish scheme is sin, and the scorner is an abomination to people.

and then the lawless one will be revealed, whom the Lord will destroy by the breath of his mouth and wipe out by the manifestation of his arrival.

But God chose what the world thinks foolish to shame the wise, and God chose what the world thinks weak to shame the strong.God chose what is low and despised in the world, what is regarded as nothing, to set aside what is regarded as something,so that no one can boast in his presence.

Through the evidence of this service they will glorify God because of your obedience to your confession in the gospel of Christ and the generosity of your sharing with them and with everyone.

Now I, Nebuchadnezzar, praise and exalt and glorify the King of heaven, for all his deeds are right and his ways are just. He is able to bring down those who live in pride.

Whom have you taunted and hurled insults at? At whom have you shouted, and looked so arrogantly? At the Holy One of Israel!

He has demonstrated power with his arm; he has scattered those whose pride wells up from the sheer arrogance of their hearts.

But for this purpose I have caused you to stand: to show you my strength, and so that my name may be declared in all the earth.You are still exalting yourself against my people by not releasing them.

according to the foreknowledge of God the Father by being set apart by the Spirit for obedience and for sprinkling with Jesus Christ’s blood. May grace and peace be yours in full measure!

Through him we have received grace and our apostleship to bring about the obedience of faith among all the Gentiles on behalf of his name.

The LORD extends your dominion from Zion. Rule in the midst of your enemies!Your people willingly follow you when you go into battle. On the holy hills at sunrise the dew of your youth belongs to you.

But Pharaoh said,“ Who is the LORD that I should obey him by releasing Israel? I do not know the LORD, and I will not release Israel!”

Scatter abroad the abundance of your anger. Look at every proud man and bring him low;Look at every proud man and abase him; crush the wicked on the spot!

Therefore I despise myself, and I repent in dust and ashes!

Instead, you have exalted yourself against the Lord of heaven.
