你們這一向還以為我們是向你們辯訴呢！不，我們乃是在基督裏、當着上帝面前說話的；而且一切都是為了建立你們的，親愛的啊。

爾意我欲自訴乎、凡我良朋、余宗基督、在上帝前而言此、悉以輔爾德、

爾猶思我向爾曹自訴乎、非也、我賴基督在天主前而言、至愛者乎、凡我所行者、乃為建爾德、

爾等以為吾儕但欲自為辨白耳。實則吾儕對越在天、言不離基督、在一切事上、惟欲己達達人、己立立人而已矣。

Have you been thinking all along that we have been defending ourselves to you? We have been speaking in the sight of God as those in Christ; and everything we do, dear friends, is for your strengthening.

All this time, have you been thinking that I’ve been speaking up for myself? No, I’ve been speaking with God as my witness. I’ve been speaking like a believer in Christ. Dear friends, everything I do is to help you become stronger.

Have you been thinking all along that we have been defending ourselves to you? It is in the sight of God that we have been speaking in Christ, and all for your upbuilding, beloved.

Perhaps you think we’re saying these things just to defend ourselves. No, we tell you this as Christ’s servants, and with God as our witness. Everything we do, dear friends, is to strengthen you.

Have you been thinking all along that we were defending ourselves to you? No, in the sight of God we are speaking in Christ, and everything, dear friends, is for building you up.

All this time you have been thinking that we are defending ourselves to you. Actually, it is in the sight of God that we have been speaking in Christ; and all for building you up, beloved.

Again, do you think that we excuse ourselves to you? We speak before God in Christ. But we do all things, beloved, for your edification.

Ye think all this time that we are excusing ourselves unto you. In the sight of God speak we in Christ. But all things, beloved, are for your edifying.

You have thought all along that we were defending ourselves to you. No, in the sight of God we are speaking in Christ, and everything, dear friends, is for building you up.

Again, think ye that we excuse ourselves unto you? we speak before God in Christ: but[ we do] all things, dearly beloved, for your edifying.

Have you been thinking all this time that we have been defending ourselves to you? We are speaking in Christ before God, and everything we do, dear friends, is to build you up.

Again, do you think that we are excusing ourselves to you? In the sight of God we speak in Christ. But all things, beloved, are for your edifying.

我宗基督、言真無誑、我是非之良、感於聖神、同為之證、

主賜我權、乃建爾、非覆爾、我雖過誇、亦無所愧焉、

兄弟乎、是當若何、爾既集、或歌詩、或施教、或述啟示、或言方言、或譯方言、皆宜為建德而行、

我不復自薦、第以因我而誇之故予爾、可應對誇外貌不誇內心之人、我若狂則為上帝、若自制、則為爾曹、

我豈復自薦乎、豈如人需薦書與爾、抑取於爾乎、

他人且操此權、況我乎、然我不為也、寧凡事容忍、免阻基督福音、豈不知事聖事者食諸殿、侍祭壇者與於壇乎、主命宣福音者、以福音而生亦然、此權我皆未行之、今書此、非欲爾如是待我、蓋我寧死、不使我所詡者歸於虛也、夫我宣福音、無可自詡、不得已耳、若不宣之、則禍矣、若我有志為之、則有賞、即非我志、其任已託於我、然則我之賞維何、即宣福音、使人不費而得之、免我盡用福音之權也、蓋我於眾雖為自由、而自役於眾、致獲人愈多、於猶太人、我則如猶太人、以獲猶太人、於律下人、我雖非在律下、乃如律下人、以獲律下人、於律外人、我如律外人、以獲律外人、然我非在上帝律外、乃在基督律下也、於弱者則為弱者、以獲弱者、於眾則如眾、多方以救數人、我所為者、皆為福音而為、致我與人共與之、

我所愛者乎、宜避拜像、

我為爾靈、欣然委身盡己矣、我愈愛爾、而愈鮮見愛乎、

我衷基督之誠、於亞該亞境內、無人阻我此誇也、

愛友乎、我儕既有此諸許、當潔己、盡去身心之污、畏上帝而成聖、○

永頌之上帝、主耶穌之父、知我不誑、

愛友乎、勿自伸冤、寧待主怒、記有之、主曰、伸冤在我、我將報之、

如我凡事悅眾、不求益己、乃求益眾、使之得救也、

是以我所愛所慕之兄弟、為我之樂、為我之冕、我所愛者乎、宜堅立於主、○

我暌違時書此、俾晤對時無事嚴厲、依主賜我之權以建立、非傾覆也、○
