為了使我不至於因所受的啟示太大而自高，有一根「刺」在我身上，就是有撒旦的爪牙攻擊我，免得我驕傲自大。

又恐怕我因所得的启示甚大，就过于自高，所以有一根刺加在我肉体上，就是撒但的差役要攻击我，免得我过于自高。

又恐怕我因所得的启示太高深，就过于高抬自己，所以有一根刺加在我身上，就是撒但的差役来折磨我，免得我过于高抬自己。

又恐怕我因所得的启示太高深，就过于高抬自己，所以有一根刺加在我身上，就是撒但的差役来折磨我，免得我过于高抬自己。

故此、為要使我不至於因這些啓示之高超性而過於高抬自己，便有一種刺痛給了我、在肉身上、就是撒但的使者、來折磨我，免得我過於高抬自己。

並且為了不讓我因這些極大的啟示而高抬自己，有一根刺加在我的肉體上，就是撒旦的使者來擊打我，免得我高抬自己。

且以啟示莫大之故、恐我自高過甚、加刺於我身、即撒但之役擊我、免我自高過甚也、

蓋莫大此默示、恐我自高、故身受刺、任撒但之役擊我、使我不得自高、

既得默示甚多、恐我自高、故加刺於我身、即撒但之使擊我、免我自高、

且主亦恐我以受此特達之啟示、而驕矜自慢也；故容沙殫加我以肉身上之痛楚、有如芒刺之着體、蓋不欲吾之得意而忘形耳。

or because of these surpassingly great revelations. Therefore, in order to keep me from becoming conceited, I was given a thorn in my flesh, a messenger of Satan, to torment me.

God has shown me amazing and wonderful things. People should not think more of me because of it. So I wouldn’t become proud of myself, I was given a problem. This problem caused pain in my body. It is a messenger from Satan to make me suffer.

So to keep me from becoming conceited because of the surpassing greatness of the revelations, a thorn was given me in the flesh, a messenger of Satan to harass me, to keep me from becoming conceited.

even though I have received such wonderful revelations from God. So to keep me from becoming proud, I was given a thorn in my flesh, a messenger from Satan to torment me and keep me from becoming proud.

especially because of the extraordinary revelations. Therefore, so that I would not exalt myself, a thorn in the flesh was given to me, a messenger of Satan to torment me so that I would not exalt myself.

Because of the extraordinary greatness of the revelations, for this reason, to keep me from exalting myself, there was given to me a thorn in the flesh, a messenger of Satan to torment me— to keep me from exalting myself!

And lest I should be exalted above measure by the abundance of the revelations, a thorn in the flesh was given to me, a messenger of Satan to buffet me, lest I be exalted above measure.

And by reason of the exceeding greatness of the revelations, that I should not be exalted overmuch, there was given to me a thorn in the flesh, a messenger of Satan to buffet me, that I should not be exalted overmuch.

especially because of the extraordinary revelations. Therefore, so that I would not exalt myself, a thorn in the flesh was given to me, a messenger of Satan to torment me so I would not exalt myself.

And lest I should be exalted above measure through the abundance of the revelations, there was given to me a thorn in the flesh, the messenger of Satan to buffet me, lest I should be exalted above measure.

By reason of the exceeding greatness of the revelations, that I should not be exalted excessively, a thorn in the flesh was given to me: a messenger of Satan to torment me, that I should not be exalted excessively.

你們要把這人交給撒旦去毀壞他的肉體，好使這人的靈魂在主耶穌再來的日子可以得救。

但他變得心高氣傲、剛愎自用、狂妄自大，因而被革除王位、剝去尊榮。

如果你們不趕走那裡的居民，留下來的人必成為你們眼裡的刺和肋旁的荊棘，在你們所居之地攪擾你們，

因此，我告訴你們，我必不趕走這裡的居民，他們必成為你們肋旁的刺，他們的神明必成為你們的網羅。」

希西迦卻沒有為他所蒙的恩典而感謝上帝，因為他心中驕傲。因此，上帝的烈怒臨到他、猶大和耶路撒冷。後來希西迦和耶路撒冷的居民發覺自己心裡驕傲，就謙卑下來。因此，在希西迦有生之年，耶和華的烈怒沒有臨到他們。

烏西雅強盛後，便心高氣傲，以致走向滅亡。他干犯他的上帝耶和華，擅自進入耶和華的殿在香壇上燒香。

初信主的人不可作監督，免得他自高自大，遭受魔鬼所受的懲罰。

你們知道，當初是因為我生病才首次有機會向你們傳福音。

於是，撒旦從耶和華面前退去，開始加害約伯，使他從頭到腳長毒瘡。

然而，當巴比倫的使者來見他，詢問他有關這地方發生的奇蹟時，上帝就讓希西迦自行處理，為要試驗他，好知道他內心如何。

這樣，他就不會妄自尊大，違背誡命，他和他的子孫就可以長久統治以色列。

切勿心驕氣傲，忘記你們的上帝耶和華。祂把你們從受奴役之地——埃及救出來，

「『藐視以色列人的鄰邦必不再作刺他們的荊棘，傷他們的蒺藜，這樣人們就知道我是主耶和華。』

擊破一切的謬論和阻礙人們認識上帝的驕傲言論，奪回被擄去的心思意念，使其順服基督。

就算有人奴役、剝削、利用、侮辱你們，打你們耳光，你們都能逆來順受！

那人見勝不過雅各，就在他的大腿窩摸了一下，他大腿的關節就脫了臼。

他們就吐唾沫在祂臉上，揮拳打祂。還有人一邊打祂耳光，一邊說：

雅各經過毗努伊勒的時候，太陽出來了，那時他的大腿瘸了。

我們至今還是又饑又渴，衣不蔽體，遭受毒打，居無定所，

這婦人身為亞伯拉罕的女兒，受撒旦的捆綁十八年，難道不該在安息日為她解開捆索嗎？」
