This will be my third visit to you.“ Every matter must be established by the testimony of two or three witnesses.”

看哪，這是我第三次預備好到你們那裡去，而且我不會成為你們的負擔，因為我想要的不是你們的東西，而是你們自己。本來，不應該是兒女為父母積蓄財富，而是父母為兒女積蓄財富。

連你們的律法上也記載著：兩個人的見證才是有效的。我為自己做見證，派我來的父也為我做見證。」

任何拒絕摩西律法的人，憑兩個或三個見證人的見證，就得不到憐憫而死，何況一個人踐踏了神的兒子，把那使自己成聖的立約之血看做是俗物，又侮辱了恩典的聖靈，你們想想，這個人難道不該受更厲害的懲罰嗎？

雖然有許多假見證人上前來，可是他們找不出什麼。後來有兩個人上前來，說：「這個人說過：『我能拆毀神的聖所，三天內又建起來。』」
