We are not like Moses, who would put a veil over his face to prevent the Israelites from seeing the end of what was passing away.

We are not like Moses. He used to cover his face with a veil. That was to keep the people of Israel from seeing the end of what was passing away.

摩西与他们说完了话就用帕子蒙上脸。但摩西进到耶和华面前与他说话就揭去帕子，及至出来的时候便将耶和华所吩咐的告诉以色列人。以色列人看见摩西的面皮发光。摩西又用帕子蒙上脸，等到他进去与耶和华说话就揭去帕子。

那用字刻在石头上属死的职事尚且有荣光，甚至以色列人因摩西面上的荣光，不能定睛看他的脸；这荣光原是渐渐退去的，

因他使我们和睦，将两下合而为一，拆毁了中间隔断的墙；而且以自己的身体废掉冤仇，就是那记在律法上的规条，为要将两下藉着自己造成一个新人，如此便成就了和睦。

这些原是后事的影儿；那形体却是基督。

但这因信得救的理还未来以先，我们被看守在律法之下，直圈到那将来的真道显明出来。这样，律法是我们训蒙的师傅，引我们到基督那里，使我们因信称义。

律法的总结就是基督，使凡信他的都得着义。

律法既是将来美事的影儿，不是本物的真像，总不能藉着每年常献一样的祭物叫那近前来的人得以完全。若不然，献祭的事岂不早已止住了吗？因为礼拜的人，良心既被洁净，就不再觉得有罪了。但这些祭物是叫人每年想起罪来；因为公牛和山羊的血，断不能除罪。所以基督到世上来的时候，就说：“神啊，祭物和礼物是你不愿意的，你曾给我预备了身体。燔祭和赎罪祭是你不喜欢的。那时我说：‘神啊，我来了，为要照你的旨意行；我的事在经卷上已经记载了。’”以上说：“祭物和礼物，燔祭和赎罪祭，是你不愿意的，也是你不喜欢的（这都是按着律法献的）”；后又说：“我来了为要照你的旨意行”；可见他是除去在先的，为要立定在后的。
