我們不是再次向你們推薦自己，而是給你們一個誇耀我們的機會，好讓你們可以應對那些只憑外貌、不憑內心誇耀的人，

We are not trying to commend ourselves to you again, but are giving you an opportunity to take pride in us, so that you can answer those who take pride in what is seen rather than in what is in the heart.

We are not trying to make an appeal to you again. But we are giving you a chance to take pride in us. Some people take pride in their looks rather than what’s in their hearts. If you take pride in us, you will be able to answer them.

We are not commending ourselves to you again but giving you cause to boast about us, so that you may be able to answer those who boast about outward appearance and not about what is in the heart.

Are we commending ourselves to you again? No, we are giving you a reason to be proud of us, so you can answer those who brag about having a spectacular ministry rather than having a sincere heart.

就像你們對我們已經有一些了解那樣，因為在我們主耶穌的日子，我們是你們的誇耀，正如你們是我們的誇耀。

我現在所做的，將來還要做，為要斷絕那些人的機會——他們想找一個機會，好讓別人以為他們所誇耀的與我們一樣，因為這樣的人是假使徒，是詭詐的工人，他們裝做基督的使徒。這並不足為奇，原來撒旦自己也裝做光明的天使；所以，即使他的僕人把自己裝做義的僕人，也不足為怪；他們的結局必然照著他們的行為。我再說：誰都不要以為我是愚妄的人！否則，至少該接受我這個像是愚妄的人，好讓我也可以稍微自誇。

那些想在肉體上體面的，他們才強求你們受割禮，他們只是要避免為基督的十字架受逼迫。事實上，那些受割禮的人自己也不遵守律法。他們要你們受割禮，是為了以你們的肉體誇耀。至於我，除了我們主耶穌基督的十字架以外，我絕不以別的誇耀。因這十字架，對我來說，世界已經被釘十字架了；對世界來說，我也已經被釘十字架了。

誇耀雖然沒有益處，但是必須的；我要說到主的異象和啟示：我知道一個在基督裡的人，他十四年前被提到第三層天上。他是否在身體裡，我不知道；是否在身體外，我也不知道；只有神知道。不過我知道這樣一個人——他是否在身體裡，還是在身體外，我都不知道，只有神知道——他被提到樂園裡去，聽見了無法描述的話語，是人不可以說出來的。為這樣一個人，我要誇耀，但為我自己，除了有關那些軟弱的事以外，我不誇耀。其實就算我願意誇耀，也不算是愚妄的人，因為我會講真理。可是我要克制，免得有人把我看高了，過於他在我身上所看到的，或是從我所聽到的。並且為了不讓我因這些極大的啟示而高抬自己，有一根刺加在我的肉體上，就是撒旦的使者來擊打我，免得我高抬自己。為了這事，我三次求主使這根刺離開我。但他對我說：「我的恩典是夠你用的，因為我的大能在軟弱中得以完全。」因此，我反而極其樂意地誇耀我的那些軟弱，好讓基督的能力遮蓋在我身上。

主所賜給我們的權柄是為了造就你們，不是為了拆毀你們。其實，就算我為這權柄有些過度的誇耀，我也不至於蒙羞。

反而在一切事上都證明自己是神的僕人：在極大的忍耐中，在各種患難、艱難、困苦中，

其實我們不敢把自己與某些自我推薦的人同列或比較。當他們以自己來衡量自己，以自己來比較自己的時候，他們是不領悟的。

讓別人稱讚你，而不是用自己的口；讓外人稱讚你，而不是用自己的嘴。

我成了愚妄的人，是你們逼我的。其實我應該受到你們的推薦，因為即使我一無所是，我也沒有一點趕不上那些「超級使徒」。

因為那經過考驗的人，不是自我推薦的，而是主所推薦的。
