我们凡事都不叫人有妨碍，免得这职分被人毁谤；

我们不在任何事上妨碍任何人，免得这使命被人毁谤；

我们不在任何事上妨碍任何人，免得这使命被人毁谤；

为了避免有人毁谤我们的职分，我们凡事尽量不妨碍别人，

我们凡事都没有妨碍人，不让这职分受到毁谤，

我们不在任何事上给任何人跌倒的借口，免得这服事的工作被人挑剔；

我們凡事都不叫人有妨礙，免得這職分被人毀謗；

我們不在任何事上妨礙任何人，免得這使命被人毀謗；

我們不在任何事上妨礙任何人，免得這使命被人毀謗；

為了避免有人毀謗我們的職分，我們凡事儘量不妨礙別人，

吾儕不窒礙人、恐吾職受謗、

我儕凡事不使人躓礙、恐我之職受謗、

蓋吾儕之所以小心翼翼、不敢稍樹梗障者亦欲不辱使命而已。

We put no stumbling block in anyone’s path, so that our ministry will not be discredited.

We don’t put anything in anyone’s way. So no one can find fault with our work for God.

We put no obstacle in anyone’s way, so that no fault may be found with our ministry,

We live in such a way that no one will stumble because of us, and no one will find fault with our ministry.

We are not giving anyone an occasion for offense, so that the ministry will not be blamed.

giving no reason for taking offense in anything, so that the ministry will not be discredited,

We give no offense in anything, that our ministry may not be blamed.

giving no occasion of stumbling in anything, that our ministration be not blamed;

We give no opportunity for stumbling to anyone, so that the ministry will not be blamed.

Giving no offence in any thing, that the ministry be not blamed:

We do not give anyone an occasion for taking an offense in anything, so that no fault may be found with our ministry.

We give no occasion of stumbling in anything, that our service may not be blamed,

Therefore let us stop passing judgment on one another. Instead, make up your mind not to put any stumbling block or obstacle in the way of a brother or sister. (niv)

If others have this right of support from you, shouldn’t we have it all the more? But we did not use this right. On the contrary, we put up with anything rather than hinder the gospel of Christ. (niv)

“ But so that we may not cause offense, go to the lake and throw out your line. Take the first fish you catch; open its mouth and you will find a four- drachma coin. Take it and give it to them for my tax and yours.” (niv)

Do not cause anyone to stumble, whether Jews, Greeks or the church of God—even as I try to please everyone in every way. For I am not seeking my own good but the good of many, so that they may be saved. (niv)

To the weak I became weak, to win the weak. I have become all things to all people so that by all possible means I might save some. (niv)

We want to avoid any criticism of the way we administer this liberal gift. (niv)

“ I have the right to do anything,” you say— but not everything is beneficial.“ I have the right to do anything”— but not everything is constructive.No one should seek their own good, but the good of others. (niv)

“ If anyone causes one of these little ones— those who believe in me— to stumble, it would be better for them to have a large millstone hung around their neck and to be drowned in the depths of the sea. (niv)

Now this is our boast: Our conscience testifies that we have conducted ourselves in the world, and especially in our relations with you, with integrity and godly sincerity. We have done so, relying not on worldly wisdom but on God’s grace. (niv)

Be careful, however, that the exercise of your rights does not become a stumbling block to the weak.For if someone with a weak conscience sees you, with all your knowledge, eating in an idol’s temple, won’t that person be emboldened to eat what is sacrificed to idols?So this weak brother or sister, for whom Christ died, is destroyed by your knowledge.When you sin against them in this way and wound their weak conscience, you sin against Christ.Therefore, if what I eat causes my brother or sister to fall into sin, I will never eat meat again, so that I will not cause them to fall.
