For if there be first a willing mind,[ it is] accepted according to that a man hath,[ and] not according to that he hath not.

For if the willingness is there, the gift is acceptable according to what one has, not according to what one does not have.

Do you really want to give? Then the gift is measured by what someone has. It is not measured by what they don’t have.

For if the readiness is there, it is acceptable according to what a person has, not according to what he does not have.

Whatever you give is acceptable if you give it eagerly. And give according to what you have, not what you don’t have.

And there came a certain poor widow, and she threw in two mites, which make a farthing.And he called[ unto him] his disciples, and saith unto them, Verily I say unto you, That this poor widow hath cast more in, than all they which have cast into the treasury:For all[ they] did cast in of their abundance; but she of her want did cast in all that she had,[ even] all her living.

Every man according as he purposeth in his heart,[ so let him give]; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver.

And he looked up, and saw the rich men casting their gifts into the treasury.And he saw also a certain poor widow casting in thither two mites.And he said, Of a truth I say unto you, that this poor widow hath cast in more than they all:For all these have of their abundance cast in unto the offerings of God: but she of her penury hath cast in all the living that she had.

Speak unto the children of Israel, that they bring me an offering: of every man that giveth it willingly with his heart ye shall take my offering.

Take ye from among you an offering unto the LORD: whosoever[ is] of a willing heart, let him bring it, an offering of the LORD; gold, and silver, and brass,

He that is faithful in that which is least is faithful also in much: and he that is unjust in the least is unjust also in much.

The children of Israel brought a willing offering unto the LORD, every man and woman, whose heart made them willing to bring for all manner of work, which the LORD had commanded to be made by the hand of Moses.

And they came, every one whose heart stirred him up, and every one whom his spirit made willing,[ and] they brought the LORD’S offering to the work of the tabernacle of the congregation, and for all his service, and for the holy garments.And they came, both men and women, as many as were willing hearted,[ and] brought bracelets, and earrings, and rings, and tablets, all jewels of gold: and every man that offered[ offered] an offering of gold unto the LORD.

And that servant, which knew his lord’s will, and prepared not[ himself], neither did according to his will, shall be beaten with many[ stripes].But he that knew not, and did commit things worthy of stripes, shall be beaten with few[ stripes]. For unto whomsoever much is given, of him shall be much required: and to whom men have committed much, of him they will ask the more.

And he turned to the woman, and said unto Simon, Seest thou this woman? I entered into thine house, thou gavest me no water for my feet: but she hath washed my feet with tears, and wiped[ them] with the hairs of her head.Thou gavest me no kiss: but this woman since the time I came in hath not ceased to kiss my feet.My head with oil thou didst not anoint: but this woman hath anointed my feet with ointment.

For ye have the poor with you always, and whensoever ye will ye may do them good: but me ye have not always.She hath done what she could: she is come aforehand to anoint my body to the burying.

The desire of a man[ is] his kindness: and a poor man[ is] better than a liar.

As every man hath received the gift,[ even so] minister the same one to another, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God.

But the LORD said to David my father, Forasmuch as it was in thine heart to build an house for my name, thou didst well in that it was in thine heart:

Moreover, because I have set my affection to the house of my God, I have of mine own proper good, of gold and silver,[ which] I have given to the house of my God, over and above all that I have prepared for the holy house,[ Even] three thousand talents of gold, of the gold of Ophir, and seven thousand talents of refined silver, to overlay the walls of the houses[ withal]:The gold for[ things] of gold, and the silver for[ things] of silver, and for all manner of work[ to be made] by the hands of artificers. And who[ then] is willing to consecrate his service this day unto the LORD?Then the chief of the fathers and princes of the tribes of Israel, and the captains of thousands and of hundreds, with the rulers of the king’s work, offered willingly,And gave for the service of the house of God of gold five thousand talents and ten thousand drams, and of silver ten thousand talents, and of brass eighteen thousand talents, and one hundred thousand talents of iron.And they with whom[ precious] stones were found gave[ them] to the treasure of the house of the LORD, by the hand of Jehiel the Gershonite.Then the people rejoiced, for that they offered willingly, because with perfect heart they offered willingly to the LORD: and David the king also rejoiced with great joy.Wherefore David blessed the LORD before all the congregation: and David said, Blessed[ be] thou, LORD God of Israel our father, for ever and ever.Thine, O LORD,[ is] the greatness, and the power, and the glory, and the victory, and the majesty: for all[ that is] in the heaven and in the earth[ is thine]; thine[ is] the kingdom, O LORD, and thou art exalted as head above all.Both riches and honour[ come] of thee, and thou reignest over all; and in thine hand[ is] power and might; and in thine hand[ it is] to make great, and to give strength unto all.Now therefore, our God, we thank thee, and praise thy glorious name.But who[ am] I, and what[ is] my people, that we should be able to offer so willingly after this sort? for all things[ come] of thee, and of thine own have we given thee.For we[ are] strangers before thee, and sojourners, as[ were] all our fathers: our days on the earth[ are] as a shadow, and[ there is] none abiding.O LORD our God, all this store that we have prepared to build thee an house for thine holy name[ cometh] of thine hand, and[ is] all thine own.I know also, my God, that thou triest the heart, and hast pleasure in uprightness. As for me, in the uprightness of mine heart I have willingly offered all these things: and now have I seen with joy thy people, which are present here, to offer willingly unto thee.O LORD God of Abraham, Isaac, and of Israel, our fathers, keep this for ever in the imagination of the thoughts of the heart of thy people, and prepare their heart unto thee:
