我原不是要别人轻省，你们受累，

我不是要别人轻松，你们受累，而是要均匀：

这不是说要别人脱离困境，要你们陷入困境，乃是要均平。

这不是要别人轻省，你们受累，而是要大家都均等。

其实我这样说不是为了让别人轻松、你们为难，而是为了公平——

我原不是要別人輕省，你們受累，

我不是要別人輕鬆，你們受累，而是要均勻：

我不是要別人輕鬆，你們受累，而是要均勻：

這不是說要別人脫離困境，要你們陷入困境，乃是要均平。

這不是要別人輕省，你們受累，而是要大家都均等。

這不是說、別人該手頭鬆，而你們該手頭緊，

其實我這樣說不是為了讓別人輕鬆、你們為難，而是為了公平——

非欲彼逸而爾艱、

我不欲彼豐而爾嗇、

我勸捐、非欲彼安而爾苦、乃欲均平、今以爾之有餘、補彼之不足、

夫吾豈欲加重爾等之累、以釋他人之肩耶？

Our desire is not that others might be relieved while you are hard pressed, but that there might be equality.

We don’t want others to have it easy at your expense. We want things to be equal.

For I do not mean that others should be eased and you burdened, but that as a matter of fairness

Of course, I don’t mean your giving should make life easy for others and hard for yourselves. I only mean that there should be some equality.

It is not that there should be relief for others and hardship for you, but it is a question of equality.

For this is not for the relief of others and for your hardship, but by way of equality—

For I do not mean that others should be eased and you burdened;

For I say not this that others may be eased and ye distressed;

It is not that there may be relief for others and hardship for you, but it is a question of equality—

For[ I mean] not that other men be eased, and ye burdened:

For I do not say this so there would be relief for others and suffering for you, but as a matter of equality.

For this is not that others may be eased and you distressed,

that there were no needy persons among them. For from time to time those who owned land or houses sold them, brought the money from the sales (niv)

For Macedonia and Achaia were pleased to make a contribution for the poor among the Lord’s people in Jerusalem.They were pleased to do it, and indeed they owe it to them. For if the Gentiles have shared in the Jews’ spiritual blessings, they owe it to the Jews to share with them their material blessings. (niv)
