For I know your eagerness to help, and I have been boasting about it to the Macedonians, telling them that since last year you in Achaia were ready to give; and your enthusiasm has stirred most of them to action. (niv)

Therefore show these men the proof of your love and the reason for our pride in you, so that the churches can see it. (niv)

And here is my judgment about what is best for you in this matter. Last year you were the first not only to give but also to have the desire to do so. (niv)

Now that you have purified yourselves by obeying the truth so that you have sincere love for each other, love one another deeply, from the heart. (niv)

“ Now fear the Lord and serve him with all faithfulness. Throw away the gods your ancestors worshiped beyond the Euphrates River and in Egypt, and serve the Lord. (niv)
