So the palace administrator, the city governor, the elders and the guardians sent this message to Jehu:“ We are your servants and we will do anything you say. We will not appoint anyone as king; you do whatever you think best.”

家宰邑宰長老、及教育亞哈子者、遣人詣耶戶曰、我為爾僕、凡所命者、我必行之、我不立人為王、爾視為善者則行之、

家宰、邑宰、長老、訓迪者、遣人告耶戶曰、任爾為所欲為、我不敢立王、願為爾臣、惟命是聽。

家宰、邑宰、長老、教育者、遣人見耶戶曰、我為爾僕、凡所命我、我必遵行、我不願立王、凡爾所欲、任爾行之、

The city governor and the person in charge of the palace sent a message to Jehu. The message was also from the elders and the people who took care of Ahab’s children. In the message, they said,“ We will serve you. We’ll do anything you say. We won’t appoint anyone to be king. Do what you think is best.”

So he who was over the palace, and he who was over the city, together with the elders and the guardians, sent to Jehu, saying,“ We are your servants, and we will do all that you tell us. We will not make anyone king. Do whatever is good in your eyes.”

So the palace and city administrators, together with the elders and the guardians of the king’s sons, sent this message to Jehu:“ We are your servants and will do anything you tell us. We will not make anyone king; do whatever you think is best.”

So the overseer of the palace, the overseer of the city, the elders, and the guardians sent a message to Jehu:“ We are your servants, and we will do whatever you tell us. We will not make anyone king. Do whatever you think is right.”

And the one who was in charge of the household, and the one who was in charge of the city, and the elders, and the guardians of the children, sent word to Jehu, saying,“ We are your servants, and everything that you tell us we will do. We will not appoint any man king; do what is good in your sight.”

And he who was in charge of the house, and he who was in charge of the city, the elders also, and those who reared the sons, sent to Jehu, saying,“ We are your servants, we will do all you tell us; but we will not make anyone king. Do what is good in your sight.”

And he that was over the household, and he that was over the city, the elders also, and they that brought up the children, sent to Jehu, saying, We are thy servants, and will do all that thou shalt bid us; we will not make any man king: do thou that which is good in thine eyes.

So the overseer of the palace, the overseer of the city, the elders, and the guardians sent a message to Jehu:“ We are your servants, and we will do whatever you tell us. We will not make anyone king. Do whatever you think is right.”

And he that[ was] over the house, and he that[ was] over the city, the elders also, and the bringers up[ of the children], sent to Jehu, saying, We[ are] thy servants, and will do all that thou shalt bid us; we will not make any king: do thou[ that which is] good in thine eyes.

So the palace supervisor, the city commissioner, the leaders, and the guardians sent this message to Jehu,“ We are your subjects! Whatever you say, we will do. We will not make anyone king. Do what you consider proper.”

He who was over the household, and he who was over the city, the elders also, and those who raised the children, sent to Jehu, saying,“ We are your servants, and will do all that you ask us. We will not make any man king. You do that which is good in your eyes.”

Wearing sackcloth around their waists and ropes around their heads, they went to the king of Israel and said,“ Your servant Ben-Hadad says:‘ Please let me live.’” The king answered,“ Is he still alive? He is my brother.”

The king of Israel answered,“ Just as you say, my lord the king. I and all I have are yours.”

And our elders and all those living in our country said to us,‘ Take provisions for your journey; go and meet them and say to them,“ We are your servants; make a treaty with us.”’

“ We are your servants,” they said to Joshua. But Joshua asked,“ Who are you and where do you come from?”

So Hezekiah king of Judah sent this message to the king of Assyria at Lachish:“ I have done wrong. Withdraw from me, and I will pay whatever you demand of me.” The king of Assyria exacted from Hezekiah king of Judah three hundred talents of silver and thirty talents of gold.

Whoever serves me must follow me; and where I am, my servant also will be. My Father will honor the one who serves me.

They answered Joshua,“ Your servants were clearly told how the Lord your God had commanded his servant Moses to give you the whole land and to wipe out all its inhabitants from before you. So we feared for our lives because of you, and that is why we did this.We are now in your hands. Do to us whatever seems good and right to you.”

All nations will serve him and his son and his grandson until the time for his land comes; then many nations and great kings will subjugate him.“‘“ If, however, any nation or kingdom will not serve Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon or bow its neck under his yoke, I will punish that nation with the sword, famine and plague, declares the Lord, until I destroy it by his hand.

Do not listen to them. Serve the king of Babylon, and you will live. Why should this city become a ruin?
